Oracle HCM goes live

The appetite of our teams to rise to a challenge never ceases to amaze.

This time the dream team comes in the form of our HR and IT teams, who this week will launch a brand new Human Capital Management System.

Nothing so amazing in that you might think? But how about if we tell you this has been fully delivered in just 3 short months, during a global pandemic, 100% remotely. And the virtual collaboration of our teams across 10 countries has achieved it’s goal of connecting all of our 3000 people to the new system.

Melody Sheybani, Senior HR Business Partner, lead the project from beginning to end. Here’s what she thinks about what the team has achieved over the past 3 months.

“What an amazing experience to be part of a truly 100% virtual project team from the start. We’ve been through design, test and training phases all online to transform our HR organisation by launching Oracle Fusion HCM globally, across all our markets in Kent. This is a truly transformational project. Change management in action. Our HR capabilities have now grown to deliver a self-service functionality to the business, that promotes transparency of data when it comes to our employees and our people, which is Kent’s strength! So proud to be part of this team, and this is only the start!”

Geleen Basco, Group Technology Portfolio Manager, lead the project from the IT side. Geleen has delivered many such projects in her 10 year tenure with us, but here’s why she thinks this one was different.

“If there is a silver lining to the 2020 Pandemic, it’s that everyone is wholeheartedly willing to extract an hour or two from their crazy schedule to help and support each other in achieving something that will make a difference! The stable Oracle technology framework combined with the strong personal commitment of the project team, including our Appslink partner, are the real drivers of the success of this project. Definitely not a smooth journey. Delivering 100% remotely and on shared resources brings it’s challenges but what an achievement to be rolling out now in such a short timeframe. We are going live globally with ESS and MSS! This is a shining example of our Kent DNA – to deliver no matter how ambitious the project is.”
