Reducing our environmental impact
Today's reality

Current impacts

Our planet is at a pivotal crisis point. We are witnessing the detrimental effects of single-use plastics on marine life, an increase in climate-related drought and wildfires, and a society that is more focused on cost and convenience than efficiently using resources, leading to depletion of resources, damage to ecosystems and biodiversity, and an overload of waste.

Experts have issued warnings about the potential for severe hunger, displacement of people and economic collapse if no action is taken.

As courageous advocates for our planet, we are facing these difficult truths and taking action.

The Kent difference

Businesses have the power to make a real difference in protecting the environment. Our commitment goes beyond sustainable operations - it is also about taking small, daily actions to make a positive impact on our planet. That's why we’re taking responsibility to reduce our use of plastic, waste and water, as well as raising awareness of key issues such as protecting and nurturing biodiversity.

Our environmental contributions

We’re taking tangible steps to establish a water consumption and waste disposal baseline to understand our current impact better and develop a strategy to significantly reduce our footprint.

We are also working on eliminating single-use plastics from our operations and developing a suite of environmental training resources to raise the awareness of our people across the business.

By 2025, under the leadership of Wayne Seddon, Vice President - HSSE, we are committed to:

  • Collating data to help us understand our water consumption.
  • Developing strategies and targets to reduce our water usage, prioritising the Kent offices based in water-scarce regions.
  • Collating data to help us understand the waste we disposed of
  • Developing strategies and targets to manage our volume of disposal
  • Our locations will be single-use plastic free
  • Delivering environmental awareness training for all our people around the world
