As for the Process Safety award, safety is at the heart of everything we do at Kent. We strive to end every day at Zero. Zero harm to our people, planet, and assets.

This mindset has made us winners of the Process Safety Award at the @IChemE Global Awards 2023, especially when we demonstrated how we integrated process safety considerations into a first-of-a-kind project for a confidential CO2 transportation and storage project.

This project contributes to the UK's net zero targets by transporting captured CO2 and injecting it into offshore reservoirs.

Given the project's unique handling of dense-phase toxic CO2, we focused on incorporating safety measures into the design process that would minimise the likelihood and severity of potential major accidents or incidents during operation.

Our UK Process Safety team took the lead in outlining the project scope, placing a high emphasis on safety. After discussing our approach with the client, they fully embraced our proposed safety studies, recognising the value of prioritising safety in this groundbreaking project.
