Kent is pleased to announce the award of an EPC subcontract from Gulf Contracting Company W.L.L. (GCC) who have been successful in securing the EPC award from Chiyoda Technip Joint Venture (CTJV) for the 1,748-Man Camp to be constructed inside Ras Laffan Industrial City, in the State of Qatar.

Kent will deliver the engineering, procurement and construction scope of work for associated utility, electrical and telecoms infrastructure work for the camp and support services buildings, which are being engineered, delivered and installed by GCC.

CTJV was awarded by QatarEnergy in February this year the North Field Expansion (NFE) project’s EPC-1 onshore contract for the construction of four liquefied natural gas (LNG) mega-trains with associated treating facilities, natural gas liquids recovery, as well as helium extraction and refining within Ras Laffan Industrial City. First production from the new LNG trains is scheduled for end-2025.

The NFE Project will increase the State of Qatar’s LNG production capacity from 77 million tons per annum (MTPA) to 110 MTPA. The second phase of the planned LNG expansion, called the North Field South (NFS) Project, will further increase Qatar’s LNG production capacity from 110 MTPA to 126 MTPA by 2027.
