International Women's Day 2023 at Kent

International Womens Day 2023

International Women's Day is a crucial opportunity not only to celebrate the achievements of women but also to take action towards creating a world where EVERYONE can thrive. This year, in line with Sustainability. by Kent, we have committed to supporting the UN Women's theme of "DigitALL: Innovation and technology for gender equality."

In support of this cause, we have decided to direct our charitable donations towards Wonder Foundation. This organisation is working to bridge the digital gender divide by giving women and girls the tools they need to thrive in a digital world. In addition, we have recently enhanced our IT policy to include a section on unused equipment. This ensures that all of our unused IT equipment is properly managed by our local teams worldwide and reaches social justice groups in all of our locations.

Sustainability. by Kent is aligned with the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goal as part of our commitment to doing the right thing. Addressing the digital gender divide is an essential component of the UN’s Sustainable Development Goal 5, which seeks to achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls.

Also, during the week of International Women’s Day, we are harnessing our collective energy within to break down barriers around the Kent world, encouraging our teams to share their experience of International Women’s Day and learn how this day is celebrated worldwide (spoiler, our experiences are wonderfully diverse!).

We are re-committing to the aims of our Inclusion and Belonging Global Strategy, and we won’t rest until every person at Kent can say they are truly valued for their uniqueness, have fair and equal access to opportunities, and are free from bias and discrimination.
