Kent is looking for a Systems Lead to be based in UAE
Skills and Responsibilities:
Key Responsibilities:
- The System Lead, Reporting into the Project Delivery Systems (PDS) function is responsible for leading, governing, and integrating PDS across Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Commissioning phases.
- The role ensures alignment between business processes, digital platforms, data governance, and project execution systems to deliver optimized, data-driven EPC performance.
Enterprise System Delivery:
- Manage and deliver the PDS systems architecture across engineering, procurement, construction, material management, and project controls.
- Establish system governance frameworks, integration standards, and lifecycle management processes.
- Align digital platforms with corporate and client standards.
- Drive continuous improvement and modernization of enterprise systems.
Data Integration & Systems:
- Oversee integration between AVEVA, SmartPlant, EDMS, Oracle fusion, Material Management, and Data Platforms.
- Ensure seamless data flow between engineering tools, procurement systems, construction work packaging, and reporting dashboards.
- ERM deployment and integration
- Lead Common Data Environment (CDE)
- Coordinate with IT and vendors for system configuration, upgrades, and performance optimization.
Program & Stakeholder Management:
- Serve as the primary interface between Engineering, IT, Procurement, Construction, Project Controls, and Clients for all system-related matters.
- Manage system implementation projects from requirement definition through deployment and adoption.
- Oversee vendor management, licensing strategies, and cost optimization.
- Monitor performance KPIs and ensure measurable business value realization.
Data Quality & Compliance:
- Establish validation checks to ensure system data integrity and compliance with project requirements.
- Conduct periodic audits of system performance and data accuracy.
- Maintain documentation of system processes, workflows, and governance standards.
Your knowledge/skills, education, and experience:
Knowledge/ Qualification/ Training/ Certification:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related technical field.
MBA or equivalent postgraduate qualification is an advantage.
Technical Skills:
- Strong knowledge of EPC digital ecosystems including ERM and Systems Integration, Engineering, Supply Chain, EDMS, ERP integration, construction & commissioning management systems and data platforms.
- Experience in enterprise systems architecture and integration.
- Proficiency in database management, reporting tools (Power BI or similar), and system automation frameworks.
- Experience in data governance, MDM, and metadata management.
- Knowledge of AI/ML applications in engineering or project delivery is an advantage.
- Experience working in Oil & Gas, EPC, or Energy sectors.
Communication:
- Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical capabilities.
- Ability to train, mentor, and support cross-functional teams
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
Work Environment:
- Primarily office-based with project site visits as required.
- Flexibility to support multi-project environments and critical deadlines.
Behavior/ Core Competencies:
- Minimum 8 to 10 years’ experience in Oil and Gas related Material Selection and Corrosion Engineering
- Knowledge of SmartPlant Foundation (SPF), AVEVA Engineering, AVEVA ERM and other Hexagon products.
- Familiarity with industry standards and best practices in instrumentation engineering and design.
- Design, selection and specification of materials and corrosion loops
- Experience in the Middle East is an advantage,
- Proven leadership skills and strong personal drive-in order to meet deadlines and specific targets.
- Team player with clear evidence of working with others to deliver on goals.
- Strong, and demonstrated, personal commitment to HSSE Leadership and experience in managing HSSE throughout all project phases
- Experience with materials management
