About the job:

Travel Requirements - 2 weeks (every month) to the Owner’s project/office location in USA.


Senior Mechanical Engineer. Experienced in Package Engineering of Mechanical Static and Rotating Equipment for projects within Wastewater Facilities would be considered an asset.
  • Familiar with both Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) and Detailed Design (DE) equipment package reviews (e.g., pressure vessels, heat exchangers, storage tanks) and package systems (e.g., compressors, pumps, skids) for petrochemical facilities
  • Equipment and Package Selection Reviews: Work with project stakeholders to identify the most suitable static equipment and package systems based on project specifications, process requirements, and performance criteria.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate closely with process engineers, piping engineers, instrumentation engineers, and other disciplines to integrate static equipment and package designs seamlessly into the overall project.
  • Maintain communication with associated multi-discipline leads and client representatives and act as liaison between teams.
  • Have a variety of experience in different types of packages including but not limited to rotating and static equipment in general. Experience in pumps (slurry, APPE and Non-API) fan and steam turbine packages which includes multi discipline scopes.
  • Capability to review Engineered Work Packages (EWPs) and Construction Work Packages (CWPs.)
  • Capability to review technical bid evaluations prepared by others including the review and commenting on same in relation to expected performance and specification requirements.

  • 20 years of proven Mechanical Engineer lead role and design experience with minimum 10 years proven managerial/lead experience. Experience in working with engineered package equipment proposals in multi-discipline teams an asset.
  • P. Eng. Status Alberta a requirement
  • Demonstrable experience working on projects in the Oil & Gas and Renewable Energy Sector.
  • Strong communication skills required to provide effective inter-discipline, high value engineering, client, vendor, and sub-contract coordination on projects.
  • Familiarity with industry codes and standards and the use of client specifications for detailed design.
  • Ability and clearances to travel to and from Canada to the United States of America for progress meetings, client meetings and reviews.
  • Self-starter with initiative and ability to complete deliverables and tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to prepare design calculations, technical documents, and drawings.
  • Willingness to learn and work on a variety of tasks within multiple projects.
  • Position requires a “Whatever It Takes” attitude and commitment.

  • Professional Engineer registered as practicing in Alberta.
  • Proficient with MS Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Report writing, Communication, and Presentation skills.
