The Opportunity:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Environmental Advisor to support the construction phase of a groundbreaking energy project. This role offers a unique chance to be part of a leading Australian energy company’s transformative journey toward cleaner energy.

We are seeking a Senior Environmental Advisor to join our team and support the construction phase of a major energy project. In this exciting role, you will work closely with a high-performing team, including engineering, construction and technical disciplines to ensure the successful implementation of the Construction Environmental Management Plan.

Your responsibilities will include overseeing compliance obligations, supporting contractor onboarding and environmental inductions, conducting field inspections and monitoring environmental performance throughout the project. You will also play a key role in managing environmental risks, providing technical guidance and ensuring that all operations meet regulatory and best practice standards.

Day to Day, your role will include:

• Implement and manage the Construction Environmental Management Plan.
• Promote and maintain Kent’s environmental protection culture.
• Coordinate and oversee specialist subcontractors during construction.
• Assist in implementing approval conditions and assessing environmental risks.
• Support subcontractor evaluation, onboarding and permit applications.
• Monitor compliance through inspections and manage environmental incidents.
• Provide technical guidance on legislation, standards and best practices.

About you:

The ideal candidate will have a relevant degree (Environmental Science, Engineering, Planning, or similar) and strong industry experience, including experience in a construction site environmental role. CENVP certification is a plus. You are motivated to support the energy industry and have experience in contractor management, applying Queensland and Australian environmental legislation, and delivering high-quality solutions on time and within budget. Adaptable and flexible, you thrive in challenging environments. Additional experience in managing contaminated sites, erosion control, environmental monitoring, or auditing is desirable.
