About the Job: The Senior Electrical Engineer is responsible for contributing to all aspects of electrical engineering design to meet the technical competency expectations of Kent and its clients.
The role will involve working as part of a growing team producing work for the power and energy industries. Work will involve engineering design/advice and may include the following:
Participation as Senior Electrical Engineer in Multidiscipline Studies for the Early Phases (Feasibility, Option Selection, Concept Studies) in Greenfield and Brownfield development projects
Leadership of projects and teams as part of the electrical engineering capability within the Kent Perth office
Liaison with clients, developing and maintaining customer relationships
Liaison with suppliers and contractors
Liaison with the other disciplines, client’s engineering and production personnel to ensure consistent basis for all input parameters
Coordination of all electrical engineering studies and feasibility and conceptual design studies
Detailed design
Report and specification writing
Definition of development options and parameters for cost estimates
Documentation of assumptions and assessment of development risks for each option
Analysis and design
Trouble shooting and problem-solving
Technical/commercial due-diligence advice
Site survey and inspection activities
As a degree qualified engineer you will have a substantial level of experience of onshore / offshore oil and gas industry, including ammonia and fertilizer plant. You have significant experience in the development processes employed within the oil and gas industry with particular experience in identification and screening of development concepts and FEED.
Your previous experience with conceptual studies, detailed design, system studies, engineering calculations, specification and data sheet preparation, vendor and client coordination, in depth knowledge of plant layout will be proven. You will boast experience with low/ medium voltage system and equipment e.g. Switchboard/MCC, Generators, Motors, Transformers, UPS, VSD, Cables and experience in power generation, power system studies (e.g. ETAP or SKM Power Tools), protection coordination, power management system and HA classification.
It would be desirable if you had experience of electrical machine design and construction, modularization and construction, testing and commissioning experience.
You will have a demonstrated systematic and methodical approach to problem solving with attention to detail and with initiative and lateral thinking skills in developing solutions and in the methodologies employed and able to work with little supervision. You will want to work as a team and have extremely effective communication.
