Skills & Responsibilities:
- Reporting to the lead engineer on feasibility, concept, FEED, detailed design, or EPC project.
- Typically technically responsible for a small/medium-sized project or an area of work on larger projects and supervises the preparation of specific deliverables.
- Undertaking specific tasks/area of work as defined by the lead/ principal engineer or group manager.
- Identifying and resolving discrepancies and divergences from the original proposal/contract under the supervision of the lead/principal engineer or group manager.
- Provides construction support, as required.
- Supporting the preparation of the Civil / Structural Design Criteria and executing allocated tasks within the requirements.
- Ensuring compliance with KENT’s ISO accredited QMS and project-specific procedures, guides, and standards.
- In consultation with the Civil / Structural group manager, takes responsibility for identifying own development needs and ensuring that agreed development goals are met.
- Supervising and checking the work of other engineers as delegated by the lead engineer/group manager.
- Responsible for communicating technical/ project issues potentially impacting the project to the lead engineer.
In addition to the responsibilities listed herein, the employee may be required to perform other ad-hoc tasks as needed or directed by the supervisor or management. These tasks will be within the reasonable scope of the employee's skills, capabilities, and role within the organization. The intent of this provision is to allow for flexibility and adaptability in meeting the dynamic needs of the organization, ensuring that operational requirements can be met efficiently. All such tasks will be assigned considering the employee's current workload and with respect to their professional development.
Your knowledge/skills, education, and experience:
- Engineering Degree, Master's or equivalent in Civil / Structural Engineering or similar (minimum).
- Chartered Engineer or approaching chartered status.
- Exposure to consultancy, FEED, detailed design, and EPC projects.
- Excellent knowledge and experience of applicable international and industry specifications, standards, and codes.
- Technical knowledge in the engineering and design of foundations, piling, reinforced concrete structures, steel structures, and buildings.
- Complimentary knowledge of civil and underground engineering and design.
- Relevant knowledge and hands-on experience of engineering software and tools hands-on capability relevant to civil / Structural Engineering and particular engineering specialisms. Staad Pro experience preferred.
- Knowledge of safety and quality procedures and best practices.
- Activity scheduling and discipline priorities.

- Excellent command of the English language in both oral and written communication and skills.
