About the job:
Kent is seeking a Lead Analyzer Engineer to support upcoming FEED and brownfield/greenfield scopes across multiple client proposals. This role requires a highly experienced analyzer subject matter expert with P.Eng credentials, deep technical knowledge of process analyzers, and the ability to lead complex analyzer design, troubleshooting, lifecycle planning, and integration activities. This position may be based in Calgary or Edmonton.

Responsibilities:
Analyzer SME Support
• Serve as the subject matter expert (SME) for process analyzers and analyzer systems
• Lead troubleshooting for analyzer performance issues, alarms, failures, and drift
• Validate analyzer selections, specifications, and compliance with project needs
Engineering Leadership & Technical Oversight
• Lead or provide senior technical review for analyzer system designs and deliverables
• Support FEED deliverables, engineering basis-of-design, specifications, and data sheets
• Ensure alignment with industry codes, client standards, and regulatory requirements
• Develop Datasheets and Material Requisitions (MRQ/MRP), including completion of Technical Bid Evaluation (TBE) and Vendor Data and Documentation Reviews (VDDR), to support procurement.
• Mentor and train intermediate and junior engineers
Vendor, Client, and Stakeholder Interface
• Interface with analyzer vendors for technical clarification and equipment selection
• Review FAT/SAT procedures, participate in testing, and support commissioning
• Serve as a primary point of contact for analyzer-related decisions and inquiries
Procedure, Systems & Documentation Development
• Develop and refine analyzer system procedures, calibration requirements, and maintenance documentation
• Ensure documentation accuracy and alignment with project and client execution requirements
Reliability, Optimization & Modernization
• Identify analyzer system reliability issues and propose improvements
• Support modernization strategies, lifecycle planning, and obsolescence mitigation
• Provide input into long-term analyzer fleet strategies for clients
Field & Verification Activities
• Conduct site visits for verification, walkdowns, troubleshooting, and constructability reviews
Reporting & Recordkeeping
• Provide input into weekly progress reports, engineering coordination meetings, and project updates

Your knowledge/skills, education, and experience:
Knowledge/Qualifications/Training/Certifications:
• Instrumentation Engineering degree
• Active Professional Engineer (P.Eng) registration with Alberta and/or Ontario required
• 15+ years of analyzer engineering experience, including troubleshooting and system design
• Deep SME-level expertise with process analyzers (GCs, CEMS, NIR, TDL, Moisture analyzers, etc.)
• Strong understanding of sample systems, analyzer shelters, calibration gas, Fire&Gas and HVAC requirements, and hazardous location design.
• Demonstrated experience in FEED, brownfield/greenfield scopes, and multi-site execution
• Strong understanding of IEC, CSA, API, and other applicable analyzer standards

• Strong client-facing presence with the ability to clearly communicate complex analyzer issues
• Able to work effectively across multidisciplinary engineering teams
