About the job:

Kent is looking for a QC Inspector at our Beaumont, TX location.

The duties of the QC Inspector are to inspect, test, or measure materials using gauges, callipers, and micrometres, as well as operating electronic inspection equipment to ensure that all necessary procedures and products are inspected to a high standard.

Skills and Responsibilities:

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for any safety and environmental impacts relevant to Quality Control (QC) activities performed on site.
  • Ensure the approved Project Quality Plan (PQP) is being adhered to on site.
  • Required to perform QC activities relevant to E&I work performed on site.
  • Ensure planned E&I QC Inspections are carried out on time and that any deviation from the Engineering deliverables, Specifications and Standards are identified, recorded and reported in a timely manner to the QC Electrical Lead.
  • Follow up on any deviations that have been identified to ensure compliance has been achieved.
  • Retain and maintain the required documentation for all necessary QA/QC activities. Eg. Inspection/Audit/Surveillance reports and findings.
  • Provide input to the weekly and monthly QC reports – as/when required by the QC Electrical Lead.
  • Maintain the required competencies and work standards required, and where necessary initiate training to maintain skills.
  • Provide support to the Kent Supervisor and Construction team.
  • Maintain a good working relationship with all Kent and Client personnel.
  • Build and maintain relationships with NDT providers and other subcontracted testing and inspection contractors/vendors.
  • Attend and participate in site, company and client meetings as required by the QC Electrical Lead/Supervisor.
  • Ensure all test documentation, records, as built and related commissioning and handover documentation are completed and are maintained, kept up to date and are traceable and retrievable.
  • Any other ad hoc duties as assigned from time to time by the QC Electrical Lead.

In addition to the responsibilities listed herein, the employee may be required to perform other ad hoc tasks as needed or directed by the supervisor or management. These tasks will be within the reasonable scope of the employee's skills, capabilities, and role within the organization. The intent of this provision is to allow for flexibility and adaptability in meeting the dynamic needs of the organization, ensuring that operational requirements can be met efficiently. All such tasks will be assigned considering the employee's current workload and with respect to their professional development.

Your knowledge/skills, education, and experience:

Knowledge/ Qualification/ Training/ Certification:

  • Electrical Trade Certificate and QLD License
  • Certificate III or IV Instrumentation (or Equivalent)
  • Held a position in a QC E&I Inspection previously
  • General Construction Induction, CPCCWHS1001 Construction White Card or equivalent
  • Confined space entry, RIIWH202E
  • Working safely at Heights, RIIWHS204D
  • EEHA, Electrical Equipment in Hazardous Areas (proof of maintained competency or 3y)
  • CPR / LVR, UETDRRF004, HLTAID009
  • 5 Years experience in oil and gas or similar process led industry would be advantageous
  • Shall be fully conversant with relevant Australian Electrical Standards and wiring regulations
  • Computer literate, familiar with proprietary administration software
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
