Scope of Work:

The Principal Telecommunications engineer will be responsible for the execution of project work, including EPC design deliverables in accordance with the Discipline Design Instructions, including Company and / or Project Procedures on Safety and Quality Control, within the man - hour, cost budgets and the project schedule target.

Key Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Telecommunications or related subject
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in Telecoms Detailed Engineering in the Oil and Gas industry
  • Good understanding of telecommunication systems in the Oil & Gas sector
  • Knowledge of international regulations, codes, and standards affecting Telecoms Systems.
  • Knowledge of Telecoms studies and calculations.
  • Team player who can interact effectively with colleagues from other disciplines, clients, and suppliers.
  • The Telecommunications Engineer will be based in Kent Woking office 5 days a week.

Deliverables:

The Principal Telecoms Engineer will be responsible for producing the following deliverables:

  • Carry out EPC deliverables
  • Telecommunication systems architecture, block diagrams and layouts (CCTV, PAGA, etc.)
  • Develop Telecoms Systems Specifications such as PAGA, Hotline, Telephone Systems, CCTV Systems, UHF TETRA Radio Systems, Fiber Optic Networks, LAN Systems, ACS, Wireless Systems, Intrusion Detection Systems, Cybersecurity requirements, TSI Scope of Work, and Bill of Materials.
  • Prepare Telecoms systems block diagram sketches.
  • Interface management with existing telecommunication systems
  • Integrate C&I systems with other systems (e.g., SCADA, HMI) to ensure data flow and coordination between different systems.
  • Follow-up of Telecommunication Material Take-Off (MTO): cables, power distribution, etc.
  • Prepare requisitions and perform technical bid evaluations of Telecoms Systems.
  • Perform telecoms power consumption, heat dissipation, and weight estimation.
  • Work closely with electrical, mechanical, and civil engineers to ensure that C&I systemsintegrate well with other aspects of the project.
  • Communicate with project stakeholders, such as clients, vendors, and contractors, to ensure clear expectations and timelines.
  • Manage relationships with vendors and ensure that components are delivered as specified, on time, and within budget.
  • Develop schedules for the design, procurement, installation, and commissioning phases of projects.
  • Identify potential project risks, propose mitigation strategies, and ensure compliance with relevant standards and codes
  • Prepare regular progress reports and ensure timely documentation of any design or scope changes.
  • Ensure all designs and implementations comply with local, national, and international standards (e.g., IEC, ITU).
  • Implement and monitor safety standards and practices related to Telecoms work to minimize risks and ensure worker safety.
