The Opportunity:
Kent are looking for experienced (Plant Mechanical Technician) to join our high performing team on Shell's QGC business in the Surat Basin! This is an ideal role for residents of the local area or who reside in Brisbane. The work roster is 15 days on 13 days off, 10 hours per day.
Responsibilities:
• Execute preventative and corrective maintenance tasks on plant equipment, safely and effectively as directed by maintenance supervisor or lead.
• Creating work orders as required of defects found.
• Inspect, test, adjust and repair equipment to satisfy appropriate Governing Standards.
• Work within OEM guidelines
• Demonstrate a level of fault finding skills and the ability to troubleshoot autonomously.
• Execute maintenance activities to ensure the highest standards in reliability and availability are achieved.
• Maintain maintenance registers and databases for site specific equipment and systems.
• Ensure compliance to manufacturers guidelines, maintenance agreements and warrantees.
• Participate in equipment performance checks.
• Maintain maintenance records through effective documentation in conjunction with the Computerised Maintenance Management System.
• Active involvement in hazard hunts to identify potential hazards in the work place.
About You:
Our ideal candidate will be a Trade-qualified Mechanical Technician (Cert III) with strong hands-on experience inspecting, diagnosing, servicing and rebuilding a wide range of plant and equipment. You bring proven maintenance expertise across rotating machinery, including gas engines, screw, centrifugal and reciprocating compressors, as well as DGS systems and supporting auxiliary equipment. You’re confident using laser alignment tools, applying flange management procedures and working within best-practice maintenance standards. Knowledge of vibration analysis and condition monitoring is highly regarded. You hold a valid driver’s licence and a current construction white card, and you take pride in delivering safe, reliable and high-quality work in every task.
