About the job:
Kent is looking for a Materials & Logistics Lead to support a construction project at Kearl. This role plays a critical leadership role in ensuring effective planning, coordination, control, and the movement of materials and logistics across the project lifecycle. Working closely with Procurement, Construction, and Engineering, the Materials & Logistics Manager is accountable for ensuring that all materials, equipment, and bulk commodities are received, stored, preserved, issued, tracked, and reported accurately to support uninterrupted site execution. This position requires site-based experience, excellent organizational capability, and a proactive, solutions-oriented approach to material readiness, inventory accuracy, and logistics coordination. The role will be based at the site, with a rotational schedule to be confirmed.
Skills and Responsibilities:
Responsibilities:
Materials Management & Site Support
• Establish and manage site material control processes in accordance with project execution plans and construction requirements.
• Oversee receiving, inspection, storage, preservation, and issuance of all project materials and equipment.
• Ensure materials are available in alignment with construction schedules and active work fronts.
• Coordinate closely with Construction to prioritize material requirements and resolve shortages or constraints.
• Maintain clear, accurate visibility of material status across all site activities.
Inventory Control & Reporting
• Maintain accurate material tracking, inventory records, and material status reporting.
• Monitor surplus, shortage, damaged, or non-conforming materials and coordinate corrective actions.
• Prepare regular material and logistics reports for project leadership, including critical materials and look-ahead forecasts.
• Support reconciliation between procurement systems, site inventory, and issued materials.
Logistics Management & Interface Coordination
• Lead site logistics coordination, including delivery sequencing, laydown planning, and internal material movements.
• Coordinate inbound and outbound logistics to support construction execution and work-front readiness.
• Interface with Procurement to support expediting activities, shipping updates, and delivery schedules.
• Coordinate with vendors, freight forwarders, transportation providers, and site logistics teams as required.
• Support customs, transportation, and shipping documentation where applicable.
Systems, Processes & Compliance
• Ensure compliance with Kent material management procedures and project-specific requirements.
• Maintain material management systems in accordance with corporate and project governance standards.
• Support audits, material reconciliations, and project close-out documentation.
• Interface with Engineering for BOM updates, approved material substitutions, and technical clarifications.

Your knowledge, skills, education, and experience:
Knowledge/Qualification/Training/Certification:
• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline (or equivalent experience) preferred, not required.
• 10+ years of experience in materials management and logistics within construction or EPC environments.
• Strong working knowledge of:

• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Ability to effectively interface with Construction, Procurement, Engineering, and Project Controls teams.
• Comfortable operating in fast-paced, site-based environments.
