- Experience in the design of electrical
distribution systems in a project team environment with a focus on
conceptual studies, Front End Engineering Design (FEED), detailed design
for new plants and modifications/replacements of existing equipment
in process plants.
- Assigned as working Lead (sub-lead. area
lead or project lead) for multiple sustaining capital projects, while
still being able to take on Engineering/Design related deliverables.
- Manage assigned work effectively,
including prioritizing, executing, managing schedule and budget, and
reporting to meet project goals/targets.
- Establishing the scope of work, effort
hour estimates and deliverable lists.
- Design of LV & MV Single Line
Diagrams with strong knowledge of Relay and metering systems associated
with substations and e-houses.
- Develop Protection control & metering
diagram.
- Prepare Load List and perform electrical
equipment sizing.
- Perform electrical system studies using
ETAP or SKM to develop load flow, short circuit, arc flash, harmonic and
motor starting the analysis, protection/relay coordination and setting
files.
- Perform electrical design and engineering
calculations (Transformer sizing, Cable sizing, NGR sizing, MCC sizing,
grounding calculation etc.)
- Develop Motor schematic and wiring
drawings.
- Knowledge of Interfacing with DCS, SCADA,
PLC etc.
- Preparing Electrical equipment
specifications, data sheets and
- Prepare material requisitions for
quotation/purchase, technical bid evaluation, and purchasing
requisitions.
- Define electrical Area Classification
- Knowledge of Substation Grounding study
and Grounding Grid Layout
- Familiar with outdoor/indoor Substation
Equipment layout.
- Familiar with Heat Tracing design
- Review vendor designs for compliance with
Technical Specifications and applicable standards.
- Supervise, Coach, and support the team
members on projects.
- Providing Electrical BOMs and major
equipment costs for capital cost estimates at various project stages
(Feasibility Study, FEED and Detailed Engineering)
- Good writing skills to produce reports,
scope documents and presentation materials.
- Attending project team meetings, Client
meetings and vendor review meetings
- Establishing a good
working relationship with the Clients. Strong client focus; able to
represent the company professionally.
- Reviewing designs for constructability and
accordance with project requirements.
- Performing field visits to validate
existing drawings and confirm tie-in locations.
- Utilize the workshare office or HVEC
(High-Value Engineering Center) to complete the electrical deliverables.
- Demonstrate a high
regard for safety, quality and environmental policies and
procedures.
- Other duties as required.

Knowledge/ Qualification/ Training/ Certification: - A degree in Electrical Engineering from a
recognized institution
- Registered as a Professional Engineer in
Canada
- 10-15 years of experience in
the design of Electrical distribution systems in Oil & Gas
Facilities.
Communication:
- Excellent
oral and written communication skills
| Behavior/ Core Competencies: - Knowledge of domestic
and international codes (CEC, CSA, NEC, IEEE, ANSI, API,
NEMA, etc.)
- Experience managing vendor electrical
packages (substation, e-houses, Transformers, VFD etc.) will be an
asset.

- Experience with
Lightning Protection will be an asset.
- Experience in the EPC
industry, leading the local and workshare team will be an asset.
- Experience with ETAP
