About the job:
Kent is looking for an experienced Instrumentation Commissioning Supervisor/Superintendent to join our team at the Golden Pass LNG Project in Port Arthur, Texas. This role provides discipline leadership, field supervision, and technical oversight of all I&C commissioning work scopes, ensuring safe and efficient system readiness from commissioning through handover and start-up operations.

Responsibilities:
• Support the Area Commissioning Manager, Leads and interface with Project Engineers, Construction, MC, Start-Up, and Operations teams on all I&C discipline matters.
• Provide discipline leadership, supervision, and direction to I&C Commissioning Technicians and System Owners through the Systems Completion process in alignment with area schedules.
• Lead and supervise I&C commissioning activities, including loop checks, calibration, logic testing, and dynamic performance verification for DCS, PLC, SIS, and field instrumentation.
• Ensure all control systems and instrumentation devices are installed, configured, inspected, and commissioned per project standards, vendor documentation, and system architecture requirements.
• Interface closely with Engineering, Control System Vendors, and Operations to ensure control logic integrity, proper system functionality, and full I/O verification from commissioning through handover.
• Provide discipline expertise during pre-commissioning, SAT, FAT, and dynamic commissioning phases to ensure seamless transition to operational readiness.
• Support the Start-Up and Operations teams by ensuring systems are functionally safe, verified, and tested according to control narratives and cause-and-effect matrices.
• Manage and oversee testing documentation, commissioning dossiers, punch list resolution, and turnover packages related to I&C systems.
• Identify and manage discipline resource needs, tools, test equipment, spare parts, and consumables required to meet schedule demands.
• Ensure all commissioning activities comply with safety and environmental requirements, including adherence to work permits, isolations, and LOTO procedures.
• Participate in daily coordination meetings and report progress, constraints, and productivity against area schedules and I&C commissioning milestones.
• Support development and maintenance of commissioning procedures, instrument index validation, and loop completion tracking within the systems completion database.
• Collaborate with Control System Vendors and Automation teams to verify integration of I/O systems and communications networks.
• Ensure compliance with the Systems Completion Plan, project control procedures, and client handover protocols.
• Perform ad-hoc technical, supervisory, or management duties as directed by the Area Commissioning Lead or Project Commissioning Manager, within the reasonable scope of the role.

Your knowledge/skills, education, and experience:
Knowledge/Qualifications/Training/Certification:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Instrumentation & Control Engineering, or equivalent.
• 15+ years of relevant experience in commissioning and start-up within the oil & gas or LNG sector, including major EPC or brownfield projects.
• Proven supervisory experience with DCS, SIS, FGS, and PLC-based control systems.
• Strong understanding of instrument calibration, loop testing, control logic verification, and dynamic commissioning.
• Knowledge of fiber optic communication networks, industrial communication protocols (Modbus, Profibus, Ethernet/IP), and interface management.
• Familiarity with ISA, IEC, API, and project-specific instrumentation standards.
• Strong planning, scheduling, prioritization, and progress-tracking skills for commissioning execution.
Communication:
• Fluent in English with excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to interface effectively with project management, contractors, craft supervision, and client representatives.
