About the role:
We are looking for a values based, self-starting HR Business Partner to join our team based in South Brisbane.
This role will support our growth at Kent as we undertake significant and transformative projects in Australia and the broader Asia Pacific region. You will play a crucial role in supporting and coaching our leaders as we continually improve and transform our employee experience and culture.
This is an autonomous, generalist HR role with a strong emphasis on improving engagement levels and building the leadership capabilities of management whilst also calmly and effectively dealing with day-to-day human resource matters.
There will be opportunities to be involved in specific HR related projects such as the roll out of new HR systems and processes, enterprise bargaining negotiations and tailored management/leadership programs.
Day to day, your role will include:
- Partnering with and providing guidance to our business and leaders across a whole range of human resource related matters and issues with an objective of improving engagement levels with the workforce and enhancing the Company’s culture
- Facilitating the delivery of pragmatic and impactful human resources initiatives designed to enhance the overall employee experience
- Enhancing the design and improving relevant human resources processes, policies and strategies.
- Advising, coaching and mentoring leaders across a myriad of human resource issues to ensure they have the appropriate level of understanding and awareness prior to implementing decisions
- Supporting and providing guidance to managers with respect to day-to-day employee relations issues
- Supporting enterprise bargaining agreement negotiations as and when required
- Providing support to project teams and managers with respect to grievances, claims and issues related to relevant legislation – e.g. Fair Work Act 2009, WHS legislation, EEO legislation
- Providing effective communication and context to workforces across a whole range of human resource and operational matters
- Providing training, awareness and support to leaders with respect to the effective management of EEO, Bullying and Harassment
- Implementing and managing workplace investigations in conjunction with relevant managers
- Performing generalist HR tasks including:
- Setting terms and conditions of employment/issuing of contracts of employment
- Supporting and guiding managers with respect to performance management and performance improvement processes
- Supporting managers in the implementation of disciplinary processes and outcomes
- Setting and updating of remuneration levels and bandings
- Approval and management of working visas/immigration matters
- Advice and support on international human resource matters
- Support and championing of all employee wellbeing, diversity and inclusion initiatives
About You:
You will be a proven HR professional who is a well organised and effective communicator. An authentic operator with high levels of emotional intelligence and empathy are required in this position.
You will have strong relationship building and coaching skills and a solid understanding of Australian employment legislation and importantly how it must be considered prior to implementing operational decisions and outcomes.
You will have the ability and capacity to think strategically, pragmatically and innovatively to deliver effective and commercially considered human resources outcomes whilst being cognisant of the operational impacts.
You will have strong working understanding, experience and familiarity with HR systems and processes.
