About the job:

This is a temporary role (April to June) within a mining environment. You will be part of team that will provide assistance for the provision and support of the iNet gas Monitors used on site. This includes installation, maintenance of bump stations, gas tanks and monitors.

Skills and Responsibilities:

Responsibilities:

  • You will be responsible for preventative, reactive and break-in maintenance. Additional responsibilities are listed below:
  • Receive the rented monitors from Industrial Scientific – confirm accuracy with IS documentation
  • Ensure all monitors are bumped and charged
  • Ensure monitors are up to date with firmware and ready for use
  • Ensure bump station units are functional
  • Confirm iNet is set up properly and equipment is reporting correctly
  • Enter all transactions into asset management system
  • Issue monitors to approved personnel and manage who has the asset
  • Receive monitors back at end of shift and update status on asset management system
  • Ensure monitors are recharged and prepared for next user
  • Provide reports on the status of all material
  • Re package all the monitors for return and drop back to Bluewater on site
  • Follow up with Industrial Scientific for technical issues and logistics on return

In addition to the responsibilities listed herein, the employee may be required to perform other ad-hoc tasks as needed or directed by the supervisor or management. These tasks will be within the reasonable scope of the employee's skills, capabilities, and role within the organization. The intent of this provision is to allow for flexibility and adaptability in meeting the dynamic needs of the organization, ensuring that operational requirements can be met efficiently. All such tasks will be assigned considering the employee's current workload and with respect to their professional development.

Your knowledge/skills, education, and experience:

Knowledge/ Qualification/ Training/ Certification:

  • Minimum - Trade certificate in a related field
  • Experience working in a camp and mining environment on a shift rotation

Communication:

  • Excellent command of the English language in both oral and written communication and skills.

Behavior/ Core Competencies:

  • Must have great organizational and time management skills.
  • Good troubleshooting skills and the ability to adapt to changes in the field.
  • Strong Computer Skills is mandatory with various software.
  • Ability to use basic hand tools.
