Location: Alexandria and West Mediterranean, Egypt
Duration: 2017 - 2019
Operator/Client: BP
Scope: Commissioning and completions

The West Nile Delta (WND) project involves the development of gas and condensate fields located within the North Alexandria (N Alex) and West Mediterranean Deepwater concessions off the coast of Alexandria, Egypt.

The gas development project is being carried out in three phases. The first phase involved the development of Taurus and Libra gas fields, and the second saw the development of the Giza and Fayoum fields. Raven field will be developed in the third phase, while the Maadi, Viper, Ruby, Polaris and Hodoa discoveries will be developed in later phases.

The Kent team mobilised to the West Nile Delta project in November 2017. We provided our client, BP, with a crew of competent, qualified, skilled and experienced commissioning engineers and technicians to manage the execution of mechanical completion and static & dynamic commissioning services. This included loop checking, cleaning / flushing of pipework, motor runs, 4 hour dynamic equipment runs, functional test procedures and creation of handover dossiers to the operations team.

We were also approached by the client to provide an Operations team responsible for start-up and stay up of the plant and to ensure that the required safety procedures were adhered to.
