About the Role:
Kent is seeking a qualified and experienced Welding Supervisor to join our team supporting the Ampol Future Fuels project at Lytton. Reporting to the SMP Superintendent, you will oversee and coordinate welders working on structural, piping and pressure equipment across both Greenfield and Brownfield scopes within an EPC project.
You will ensure welding activities align with safety, quality and project requirements while supporting SMP installation crews. This role requires strong leadership, technical expertise in welding codes and standards and excellent communication skills. This is an amazing opportunity to join a critical Australian infrastructure project which will be instrumental in reducing emissions and improving the environment.
Your Day to Day will Include:
- Supervise and coordinate welding teams daily, providing clear instructions and support to ensure productivity and safety.
- Allocate daily tasks to direct reports, monitoring their efficiency, attitude and work quality while adhering to HSSE policies.
- Ensure all welding activities comply with relevant standards (AS/ASME/API) and coordinate with QA/QC to resolve non-conformance's.
- Verify and issue welding consumables, and maintain accurate daily weld records and required QA documentation.
- Promote a strong safety culture through enforcement of HSSE policies, conducting pre-start meetings, toolbox talks and risk assessments.
- Liaise with client representatives on technical queries, inspections, and project scheduling to maintain smooth communication.
- Provide regular progress reports on construction activities, tracking schedules, risks and potential delays.
- Foster team development by ensuring workers are trained, certified, and motivated to perform tasks safely and efficiently.
About You:
Our ideal candidate will hold an Australian-recognised Trade Certificate in a related discipline such as Welding, Fabrication or Boilermaking. This role requires a strong leader with exceptional leadership and technical skills, coupled with the ability to perform effectively in challenging and dynamic work environments.
