About the job:


We are seeking a highly experienced VP Enterprise Business Architect with specialised expertise in Oracle Fusion technologies to lead our organisation's strategic initiatives in strategy, business optimisation, business architecture and value creation. This pivotal role will be responsible for guiding the overall enterprise business architecture, setting the direction for Oracle-based solutions, and ensuring that our technology roadmap aligns with business objectives and delivers measurable value. The role “holds the pen” on the Oracle Global Architecture.

Experience in Oil & Energy, Engineering, or Construction sectors is beneficial but not essential. Candidates from other industries with strong enterprise business architecture expertise (with Oracle Fusion) and a track record of innovation are encouraged to apply.

Skills and Responsibilities:

Your responsibilities:

The role reports directly to the Global Chief Digital and Information officer and carries the following core responsibilities.

Strategic Leadership

  • Develop and maintain the enterprise-wide Oracle vision, strategy, acting as the primary authority on Oracle-related decisions.
  • Collaborate with C-level executives to align Oracle Fusion solutions with business goals and operational requirement.
  • Lead executive-level workshops and presentations to promote understanding and adoption of Oracle-based architectures

Architecture and Design

  • Design comprehensive enterprise architecture blueprints that integrate Oracle Cloud ERP modules, particularly in Finance, Project Controls and execution, Supply Chain Management (SCM), Human Capital Management, amongst others, along with associated skills in latest analytics technologies.
  • Analyse complex business requirements and generate technical architectures, and flows, for Oracle implementations
  • Ensure scalability, security, data integrity, and regulatory compliance in all architectural designs.

Process Optimisation, Value Creation and KPI Management

  • Identify areas for business process improvement leveraging Oracle technologies
  • Working closely with the CDIO, Digital Strategy and delivery teams to drive value creation and define KPIS.
  • Develop and implement strategies for optimising supply chain, financial operations, HCM, PPM, and reporting capabilities using Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP. The breadth will be wider that the core Fusion modules.
  • Leverage latest intelligent automation and Artificial Intelligence (AI) to create efficiency.
  • The role also stretched beyond Oracle into other corporate and operational systems
  • Construct and maintain a knowledgebase of business capabilities, processes, and information architecture
  • Develop models and plans to drive forward the strategy, capitalising on opportunities to enhance business performance

Roadmap Development and Governance

  • Work with the CDIO and delivery teams to create and maintain a clear roadmap for Oracle technology adoption and integration
  • Support and advise on the lifecycle of Oracle solutions, from planning to post-go-live support
  • Ensure adherence to Oracle strategy and architectural principles across the organisation

In addition to the responsibilities listed herein, the employee may be required to perform other ad-hoc tasks as needed or directed by the supervisor or management. These tasks will be within the reasonable scope of the employee's skills, capabilities, and role within the organisation. The intent of this provision is to allow for flexibility and adaptability in meeting the dynamic needs of the organisation, ensuring that operational requirements can be met efficiently. All such tasks will be assigned considering the employee's current workload and with respect to their professional development.

Your knowledge/skills, education, and experience:

Knowledge/ Qualification/ Training/ Certification:

  • Proven track record of successful large-scale Oracle architecture design, implementations and integrations
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence senior management and build consensus

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • Big 4 or similar consulting experience preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in enterprise business architecture, with at least 5 years focusing on Oracle Fusion Cloud technologies, 10 years minimum Oracle.
  • Deep understanding across Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP across core modules

Additional Skills

  • Preferable certified in TOGAF or other relevant enterprise architecture frameworks is a plus
  • Experience with complementary technologies and their integration with Oracle systems
  • Knowledge of industry best practices and emerging trends in enterprise architecture and Oracle solutions

The ideal candidate will be a visionary leader capable of driving transformational change through Oracle-based solutions, with a proven ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on architectural expertise. This role is critical in shaping our organisation's technological future and ensuring we maximise the value of our Oracle investments.

Day-to-day responsibilities:

  • Lead Business Capability Mapping Sessions: Facilitate workshops with business unit leaders to identify, document, and prioritise their key business capabilities. This involves understanding how Oracle solutions can enable and enhance these capabilities, focusing on the value delivered rather than the technical implementation details. The outcome would be a clear linkage between business needs and Oracle's potential.
  • Consult on Oracle-Enabled Business Transformation: Act as a trusted advisor to business stakeholders, providing guidance on how Oracle technologies can support their digital transformation initiatives. This includes presenting industry best practices, showcasing successful case studies, and helping them envision the future state of their operations with Oracle. This is about influencing and shaping the business vision.
  • Build Relationships with Key Business Stakeholders: Proactively engage with C-level executives and other senior leaders to understand their strategic priorities and challenges. This involves attending business unit meetings, participating in strategic planning sessions, and establishing ongoing communication channels to stay informed about evolving business needs. This is the foundation for effective collaboration.
  • Communicate the Value of Oracle Investments: Develop compelling presentations and reports that articulate the business value and ROI of Oracle solutions to executive leadership. This includes quantifying the benefits achieved, such as cost savings, efficiency improvements, and revenue growth, and demonstrating how Oracle contributes to the overall business strategy. This is about demonstrating impact and securing continued support.
  • Facilitate Cross-Functional Alignment on Oracle Strategy: Organise and lead meetings with representatives from different business units to ensure alignment on the overall Oracle strategy and roadmap. This involves addressing conflicting priorities, resolving disagreements, and fostering a shared understanding of how Oracle can best serve the needs of the entire organisation. This is about building consensus and ensuring a unified approach.

Communication:

  • An excellent communicator (Written and Presentation) in English.
  • Ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proficient in preparing and presenting reports to senior management.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for leading and collaborating with diverse teams.
