Your responsibilities: |
- Reporting to the EVP Americas Region, this position is responsible for the profit and loss of the U.S.A. Engineering & Projects Business for Kent.
- You will be based in Houston and expected to be in the office or on business travel each day.
Fully accountable to emulate and promote the Kent Safety Culture- Responsible to embed Kent’s Culture across the U.S.A. and embrace the collective guidance of our purpose and beliefs, creating and promoting an empowered and agile organization based on trust
- Provide visible, decisive leadership and guidance so that the direction for the region is clearly understood, communicated, and executed
- Develop and encourage a team culture that recognizes and features an energetic and confident approach while maintaining a positive, balanced, and enjoyable working environment
- Develop and enhance effective communications and relationships across the region and the globe so that there is a good network within the team and a strong sense of teamwork and trust
Strategy:- Contribute to setting the Americas regional strategy
- Distil this longer-term strategy into U.S.A. annual business plans
- Provide clear communication to the organization on business strategies, ensure that the business strategy is considered in our decision-making and business planning
Business Development:- Perform both business development and business delivery in its nature
- Responsible for allocating operational resources to win work in line with annual and quarterly new awards targets for the region
- Although the Business Development and Proposals teams report to the Chief Development Officer, the VP U.S.A. works closely with the Americas Region EVP and the Business Development team to form a coordinated approach to Strategic Sales
- Ensures that we can demonstrate our Value Proposition to our clients
- Maintain executive relationships and management level contact with clients to ensure high levels of satisfaction and to keep abreast of any potential business developments within the customer base
- Establish relationships with prospects and clients, communicates effectively with them to properly understand their needs and informs them of the various solutions that Kent has to offer
- Ensures potential cross functional opportunities are actively pursued or passed onto relevant peers
- Ensures early positioning of Kent and participate in defining Winning Strategy
- Travels regionally as required to support business needs and pursues business in new markets across the region, in line with Strategic objectives
Operations and Executive Leadership:- Responsible for the consistent safe delivery of our budgeted P&L
- Ensures that leaders within the region are focused on developing internal talent across the region
- Prepare & maintain country plans, on behalf of the region
- Ensure that service lines are utilising Cross-sector support to identify all U.S. opportunities
- Ensures local compliance occurs within region and ensures optimum business set up
- Maintains local Government and affiliated chamber/industry body relationships, as may be necessary and internally approved as required
- Provide in Region support to the sector leaders
- Acts as internal and external ambassador for the company
Human Resources: - The success of the region depends on employee recognition and to achieve this you will establish Kent as a leading provider of its chosen expertise
- Ensure Diversity and Belonging is supported as we hire and retain the best and we always keep the welfare or our employees at the forefront
Execution: - Work closely with Finance and HR to ensure that we put in place the correct entities to execute the work where it arises
- Look ahead in line with the agreed strategy to get entities in place ahead of the work opportunities
- Ensure compliance with all Kent Management System procedures
- Full compliance with the company policy on Anti Bribery and Corruption
- On larger contracts and alliances, take on a Project Sponsorship roles and maintain executive level liaison with clients as needed
- Ensure the integrity of all HSE, Quality, Progress and Financial data
- Chairperson for monthly Project Performance Meetings for all projects meeting a revenue threshold
- Review of Project reports in the region, Risk Registers, etc.
- Identify Commercial risks and support the Country Managers and Project Managers in resolving these
- Work with Central Operations Support group to resolve the larger items / risks
- Feedback to proposals to ensure that we are pricing to win and execute
Your success in this role will be measured by your ability to win new business, enhance client satisfaction, deliver outstanding project outcomes, and scale the business through acquiring new customers, expanding services, and exploring new opportunities.

Your knowledge/skills, education, and experience: | |
- Bachelor or Masters degree in Engineering, Business, or other Industry related fields of study.
- A strong focus on the development of HSSE awareness and HSSE management is essential.
- Proven competency in multi-disciplinary engineering, construction, commissioning, maintenance, and operations activities, with strong leadership and interpersonal skills, and a sound knowledge of project delivery processes.
- Ability to manage complex stakeholder relationships.
- High energy and an intuitive business development/account management leader.
- Deep understanding of the energy industry in region, customer segmentation and customer base across sectors.
- Proven ability to manage the development of high value proposals and relate to the most senior level clients and is comfortable operating within a fast growth environment.
Communication:- Excellent oral, written, presentation, and interpersonal/rapport building skills necessary to lead effectively.
