About the job:

As a Trade Assistant at Kent, you will play a crucial role in assisting our Tradespeople with various tasks, contributing to the efficiency and effectiveness of our projects. Your responsibilities will include supporting Tradespeople, maintaining tools and equipment and ensuring a safe working environment



Your responsibilities:
  • Work closely with skilled tradespeople of various disciplines providing assistance with their duties as directed.
  • Duties can include; set up of equipment and tooling for tradespersons, housekeeping of work fronts, spotting duties, forklift duties, firewatch and sentry duties.
  • Keep tools and equipment clean and well-maintained, ensuring they are in good working condition and ready for use.
  • Assist in the loading and unloading of materials and supplies, ensuring they are properly organized and stored.
  • Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe work environment for yourself and your colleagues.
  • Keep work areas clean and organized, disposing of waste and debris properly.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines while working with potentially hazardous materials and equipment.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, new technologies, and best practices to enhance skills and knowledge.
  • Collaborate with other team members, including engineers, QA/QC inspectors, and construction management team, to achieve project goals and timelines.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to workplace safety and the safety of your co-workers;
  • Utilize personal protective equipment (PPE) as required
  • Be a self-starter and able to work both autonomously and as part of a team.


Your knowledge/skills, education, and experience:

Qualification/ Certification:

Mandatory:

  • RIIWHS204 Work at Heights competency – (within previous 2 years)
  • RIIWHS202 Enter and work in a Confined Space (within previous 2 years)
  • Construction White Card
  • Valid Australian Driver’s License
