The successful candidate will report to the Electrical and Instrumentation Discipline Manager and will be assigned to various projects associated with the Oil, Gas and Petrochemicals industry as directed by the Project Management group.
The candidate will possess a solid understanding of telecom design principles complemented by practical working experience within Oil and Gas processing facilities.
The candidate is required to perform engineering (Pre-FEED, FEED, Detailed engineering), procurement, and construction support services.
The candidate is required to be a well-organized and effective communicator. The candidate will be able to work independently, lead a team of professionals (engineers and designers) and be effective when working in a team environment.
Roles and responsibilities:
Prepare engineering specifications and engineering design packages (wiring diagrams, device location layouts, schematics, block diagrams, calculations, data sheets, cabinet layouts, cable schedules, Scope of work, bills of materials, Material Requisitions, Bid Evaluations, etc.) for various telecommunication systems including Fiber optic network, LAN, CCTV, Access Control System and Wireless Networks.
Development of Fiber optic network architecture.
Detailed understanding of CCTV, PAGA, Wi-Fi and access control systems
Knowledge of RF and microwave systems
Experience with LTE will be an asset.
Assigned as working design lead (sub-lead, area lead or project lead based on the size of the project) for multiple sustaining capital projects, while still being able to take on design-related deliverables.
Manage assigned work effectively, including prioritizing, executing, managing schedule and budget (engineering hours), and reporting to meet project goals/targets.
Establishing the scope of work, effort hour estimates and deliverable lists.
Reviewing project documents for scope, presentation, and technical accuracy.
Providing home office engineering support to on-site personnel
Review vendor designs for compliance with technical specifications and applicable standards.
Supervise and mentor the team members.
Attending project team meetings, Client meetings and vendor review meetings
Establishing a good working relationship with the Clients. Strong Client focus and ability to represent the company professionally.
Performing field visits to validate existing drawings and confirm tie-in locations.
Utilize the workshare office or HVEC (High-Value Engineering Center) to complete the deliverables.
Reviewing designs for constructability and accordance with project requirements.
