About the job:
Kent is looking for a Senior Quality Engineer to join the UK Engineering Quality team at Kent. The purpose of this position is to provide Quality support to the UK Engineering business and is a full-time role.
We follow a hybrid working model that combines office and remote work, with a requirement to be in the Woking office four days a week. This approach supports the development of a strong and effective team dynamic within Engineering.
Skills & Responsibilities:
- To provide Quality input and support to proposals, projects and the UK Engineering team
- To promote UK Engineering’s quality programme within the framework of Kent’s Quality Management System (KMS)
- To assist with implementation of the quality programme in support of business objectives, project objectives, client satisfaction, continual improvement and compliance with external certification requirements
- Proactively engage with Project Managers and project teams to ensure Quality related start up requirements are implemented
- Assist with the development of project specific Quality documentation where required within the guidelines of the KMS
- Conduct regular check-ins with Projects during execution and at project close out to ensure KMS and client contract requirements are being implemented
- Ensure Lessons Learned and improvements are identified and reported during project execution
- Plan, lead and participate in internal and external quality audits
- Provide support, guidance and advice to projects and Engineering personnel on Quality procedures, guides, processes and quality related matters
- To promote and lead business process improvement initiatives
- Analyse Quality data, including KPIs and prepare reports
- Where required prepare and implement project quality plans
- Conduct sub-contractor and vendor audits and reviews as required; some audits jointly with clients.
- Support Management Review meetings as required
- Attend and support external 3rd party KMS audits and assist in close out of any actions
- Deputise for UK Engineering Quality Manager as required
In addition to the responsibilities listed herein, the employee may be required to perform other ad-hoc tasks as needed or directed by the supervisor or management. These tasks will be within the reasonable scope of the employee's skills, capabilities, and role within the organization. The intent of this provision is to allow for flexibility and adaptability in meeting the dynamic needs of the organization, ensuring that operational requirements can be met efficiently. All such tasks will be assigned considering the employee's current workload and with respect to their professional development.
Your knowledge/skills, education, and experience:
- Degree qualified in Engineering, Business or Management
- Knowledge and understanding of certification and management system requirements e.g. ISO 9001
- Experience of Multidisciplinary Pre-FEED, FEED, Detailed Design and EPC projects
- Broad understanding of Engineering and Project Management discipline activities
- Experience of Pressure Equipment (Safety) Regulations and UKCA/CE Marking requirements
- Broad knowledge of international standards, codes and specifications
- Work with people at all levels to maintain, improve and implement an integrated quality management system
- Organise and prioritise work
Communication:
- Excellent command of the English language in both oral and written communication and skills.
