The Opportunity:

The Senior Project Engineer (SPE) is a key role responsible for managing individual projects or a portfolio of projects.

As a senior member of the projects team the SPE will work closely and communicate effectively with the all engineering disciplines, business functions, Kent management and client representatives to ensure the company’s reputation for high quality products and services is maintained. The (SPE) will oversee the operating processes used to complete projects. They check that staff members perform their duties to a high standard to ensure the project runs smoothly, overseeing the needs of the client, and finding ways to improve processes. The SPE is also responsible for developing and maintaining client relationships to identify and pursue additional opportunities.




The Responsibilities Will Include:
  • Develop, or assist in the development of project execution plans, proposals and estimates.
  • Develop project objectives by reviewing project proposals and plans and conferring with management.
  • Identify any issues and put actions in place to mitigate them. Report key issues to senior management.
  • Proactively manage project change by identifying variations to the agreed scope and agreeing variations with the client.
  • Prepare (with assistance from project controls), the project schedule.
  • Maintain the project schedule by monitoring project progress, coordinating activities, and resolving problems.
  • Maintain an accurate estimate of the costs to complete and update the PSR each month
  • Obtain, coordinate and manage the resources and tools required to execute the project
  • Ensure the correct resources are planned for the project and are available to execute the project.
  • Prepares project status reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends; recommending actions.
  • Preparation of a risk & opportunities register during the project proposal phase.
  • Maintain the project risk register, implementing mitigating actions as appropriate
  • Co-ordinate all parties involved, including engineering teams, other business units and sub-consultants
  • Communicate objectives to project team
  • Project Admin: Setting up the administration and finance system required to support the project
  • Finance: Maintain cash flow objectives by billing promptly and resolving queries or disputes on invoices
  • Project Admin: Appropriate storage of project files
