About The Job: -
Working in the PMC Project Management Team for a Portfolio of Energy Transition Projects to be based in Vienna, Austria
Your Responsibilities: -
Job Purpose & Scope: -
• Ensure HSSE goals, objectives and targets are met through personal leadership and involvement.
• Provide technical expertise related to Technical Safety and Loss Prevention Engineering throughout all assigned Project phases including FEED, Detailed Engineering, Procurement, Field Engineering, Testing, Precommissioning, Commissioning and Start-up. Ensure design and Engineering compliance with relevant codes, standards, assigned Project Specifications and client standards.
• Coordinate, monitor, review all deliverables for Technical Safety and Loss Prevention Engineering and assist with the Technical Safety design and Engineering performed by the FEED/EPCM Contractor(s) and Subcontractors, Vendors and Suppliers as per assigned Project requirements and complete the same within the required time frames.
• Work with other discipline Engineers within the PMT, FEED/EPCM Contractor(s) and with client Operations or Site Focal Point and make recommendations for improvements in proposed designs, philosophies, specifications, work practices, work processes, organization, etc.
• Work as the focal point for coordinating and resolving issues related to Process Safety and Loss Prevention Engineering, working with all necessary parties (e.g. client personnel, Third Party Certification Agencies, FEED/EPCM Contractor(s) and Subcontractors, etc.) maintaining effective, professional and cordial relationships with all parties concerned to ensure that the assigned Project schedules is met.
Principal Accountabilities: -
• Champion the assigned Project Safety culture, behaviors and engagement activities.
• Work as Process Safety and Loss Prevention Engineer in all phases (Engineering in FEED/EPCM Contractor’s office, fabrication and Construction Site during installation and commissioning) of the assigned Project.
• Review/approve and coordinate work done by FEED/EPCM Contractor(s) for the assigned Project and provide technical expertise and guidance where necessary to meet client HSSE, Technical Safety and Loss Prevention requirements.
• Review and provide comments on Technical Safety and Loss Prevention Engineering deliverables prepared by FEED/EPC Contractor(s) or their Subcontractors Vendors and Suppliers as required.
• Assist with and coordinate Technical Safety and Loss Prevention design activities with the FEED/EPC Contractor(s) or their Subcontractors Vendors and Suppliers according to the client and the assigned Project Engineering execution strategies, specifications, procedures codes and standards.
• Review and approval of Technical Safety and Loss Prevention Engineering documents like Fire & Gas study, Cause & Effect Diagrams, Fire Risk Assessment, Fire Demand Calculations, Engineering and Procurement activities of safety and fire fighting equipment, Hazardous Area Classification drawings; foam injection and foam deluge system for diesel tanks and bund area, fire and gas detector layouts, safety equipment/signs and layout diagrams, escape route layouts, design of active and passive fire protection systems etc.
• Review and approval of all Process and Utilities documents like: - P&IDs, UFDs, line sizing calculations, line lists, tie-in schedules, Process Data Sheets for equipment; surge analysis, ESD and logic diagrams, close-out of HAZID and HAZOP action items, recommendations, SIL recommendations etc.
• Inputs and review of all pump datasheets like fire water pumps, potable water pumps, sewage pumps, utility pumps, process inputs to all packages.
• Review of all Precommissioning and Commissioning documents, Operating and Maintenance Manuals from Technical Safety and Loss Prevention Engineering standpoint.
• Participate in various design safety reviews and studies like 3D model reviews, SIL, PHSER, Safety design review, HSSE audits.
Your Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience: -
Minimum Requirements: -
• Bachelor degree in Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 12 years of experience in Oil & Gas Industry with at least 8 years in the design and engineering of Technical Safety and Loss Prevention Engineering. Up to date knowledge and experience with Oil and Gas and Energy industry best practices.
• Experience of FEED and Detailed Design Engineering Execution, review and approval of technical specifications, design and Engineering documents, procedures etc. applicable for Process Safety and Loss Prevention equipment items.
• Clear understanding of assigned Project specifications and in depth knowledge of applicable HSSE codes and practices.
• Good knowledge of International Standards, and extensive experience in the field of Technical Safety and Loss Prevention Engineering. Extensive knowledge of Safety Studies and participation in various safety and design reviews.
• Able to work within a defined role with limited supervision.
• Able to make decisions and solve problems related to a specific discipline/field.
• Responsible for own work product with minimal guidance and oversight from immediate supervisor.
• Establishes credibility with peers and supervisors and makes good use of their time.
• Exercises judgment in making decisions; knows when to seek advice.
