Scope of Work:

Kent is recruiting for a Senior Offshore Structural Design Engineer – Outside of IR35 to be based in Woking.

The Senior Offshore Structural Design Engineer is typically accountable to the Lead Structural Engineer, Civil Structural Group Manager and / or Project Manager, depending on size and complexity of the Project.

Senior Offshore Structural Design Engineer will be responsible for hands-on engineering, liaising and coordinating work executed by GEC engineering offices and delivering the Structural engineering scope of a range of offshore projects including feasibility studies, FEED’s, Detailed Engineering and EPC(m). Engineer shall be competent in all aspects of offshore Structural Engineering including but not limited to design of jackets and topsides. The role will encompass a range of activities including preparation of calculations, specifications, standards, reports, MTO’s reviewing and checking 3D models and drawings including the hands-on use and implementation of engineering software including MS Office tools, Staad Pro, SAP 2000, SACS, Sesam and similar tools. The Senior Offshore Structural Design Engineer will take part in key project reviews including 3D model reviews.

Key Deliverables:

• Reporting to the lead engineer on a feasibility, concept, FEED, detailed design or EPC projects
• Typically technically responsible for an area of work and develops and coordinates preparation of specific deliverables
• Undertaking specific tasks/ area of work as defined by the lead/ principal engineer
• Identifying and resolving discrepancies and divergences from original proposal / contract under the supervision of the lead/principal engineer
• Provides constructability and fabrication support, as required
• Supporting the preparation of the Structural Specifications, Standards and Design Criteria and executes allocated tasks within the requirements of the project execution plan and Structural Design Criteria
• Ensuring compliance with KENT’s ISO accredited QMS, and project specific procedures, guides and standards
• Performing related duties as and when instructed by lead/ principal engineer or group manager
• Undertaking specified tasks / areas of work dependent on size and complexity of project, as defined by the lead engineer or project/ project engineering manager.
• Responsible for communicating technical/ project issues potentially impacting the project to the lead engineer.
• Senior Offshore Structural Design Engineer is accountable to the lead/principal engineer or project engineer (dependent on size and complexity of the project) in the project environment
• Development of Structural Jacket and Topsides Design Basis and Specifications for Integrated Wellhead Jacket Platforms.
• Development of standardised jacket and topsides design to accommodate varying geotechnical conditions, metocean conditions and water depth.
• Production of structural design reports covering both in-service and non-operating conditions.
• Development of MTO’s, cost estimate and EPC scope of work package.
• Primary steel design of offshore Wellhead fixed Jacket and Topsides structures for operating and non-operating conditions.

Key Requirements:

• Experience of transportation and installation methodology for fixed jacket and topsides structures.
• Proficient in offshore structural design analysis tools including Sesam and SACS.
• Knowledge of Saudi Aramco Standards and Middle East project experience would be an advantage.
