About the job:
Kent is looking for a Senior I&C Designer to be based in Channelview, TX.

You will perform routine to difficult design assignments, requiring proficiency in drafting techniques, procedures, knowledge of applicable industry/design codes and standards.

Basic Job Requirements

Independently develops complete, quality, on time and on budget design packages covering Instrumentation, Electrical, Analyzers, Controls/ Safety Systems Scopes.
Prepares all related package deliverables from scratch or modifies existing material- including engineering deliverables like specification sheets etc. in consultation with the primary engineering resource.
Proficient design skills using AutoCAD, Raster Design, Acrobat DC, SPI.
Coordinates with plant resources and vendors as needed to research information, obtain quotes, prepare BOMs etc.
Supports field assignments as required- including field validations (walk-downs), verifying existing equipment for design or records verification.
Quality assurance for personal work assignments.
Checks the work of other designers and drafters as required.
Prepares accurate man-hour estimates for work and for changes in design.
Keeps supervisor informed of progress.
Participates in client presentations and or other meetings as needed.
Assures project and company procedures are followed.
Must be able to perform the functions of lower/ higher classifications based on business needs.

In addition to the responsibilities listed herein, the employee may be required to perform other ad-hoc tasks as needed or directed by the supervisor or management. These tasks will be within the reasonable scope of the employee's skills, capabilities, and role within the organization. The intent of this provision is to allow for flexibility and adaptability in meeting the dynamic needs of the organization, ensuring that operational requirements can be met efficiently. All such tasks will be assigned considering the employee's current workload and with respect to their professional development.

Qualification/ Training/ Certification:

High school education or equivalent.
Extensive knowledge of design/ drafting technology.
Able to work independently with little or no direction.
Able to work cooperatively with others in a team environment.
Minimum of 10+ years of technical work experience or equivalent education in an Associate or Bachelor’s degree program for the relevant discipline.
