About the job:
Kent is seeking a highly capable and adaptable Senior Human Resources Generalist to join our team in Houston, Texas. This role is based out of our home office and includes occasional visits to project sites. The successful candidate will initially support all business lines within our operations, with the likeliness of transitioning into dedicated project site support as our business continues to grow.
The ideal candidate will be a highly capable and adaptable HR professional who can:
- Thrive in fast-paced, high-volume environments, especially those involving heavy onboarding activity, workforce ramp-ups, frequent employee movement, and transactional HR execution.
- Support a workforce with a unique combination of professional employees and remote project sites with field professionals and craft labor.
We’re looking for someone who can drive consistent, efficient HR operations while navigating changing priorities, supporting diverse teams, and ensuring compliance with HR policies and procedures.

Responsibilities: - Multi-Line Business Support:
Serve as the primary HR point of contact for corporate and field teams across all business lines. Manage day-to-day HR activity across groups with varying needs, supporting a wide range of workforce segments. - Ramp-Ups, Onboarding & Workforce Mobilization:
Support onboarding efforts for new hires across business lines, coordinating pre-employment steps, orientation and onboarding, system access, and deployment logistics for high-volume workforce ramp-ups. - Craft and Field Personnel Support:
Provide HR support for field-based and craft personnel, including onboarding, policy guidance, job changes, and issue resolution. Build trust with frontline supervisors and project teams. - HR Transactions & Data Management:
Execute employee lifecycle transactions (hires, terminations, transfers, compensation changes, etc.), ensuring data accuracy within Oracle HCM and timely communication with key stakeholders. - Employee Relations:
Address employee concerns and conduct investigations when needed. Apply HR best practices to support fair, timely, and effective resolutions. - Compliance & Process Consistency:
Monitor adherence to internal policies and external regulations. Support development and improvement of SOPs, HR workflows, and policy documentation. - HR Communications & Training:
Draft clear and compliant HR communications such as notifications to employees related to promotions, rate changes, transfers, etc. Assist in delivering training to employees and supervisors to promote understanding and adherence to HR policies and procedures. - Leave Administration:
Guide employees through leave processes including FMLA, STD/LTD, and ADA accommodations, balancing compliance with empathetic support. - Support Project Site Growth:
While the role is primarily home office-based today, you will gradually take on more direct support of project sites as our operations expand. This includes occasional travel to field locationsto support HR needs onsite.
In addition to the responsibilities listed herein, the employee may be required to perform other ad hoc tasks as needed or directed by the supervisor or management. These tasks will be within the reasonable scope of the employee's skills, capabilities, and role within the organization. The intent of this provision is to allow for flexibility and adaptability in meeting the dynamic needs of the organization, ensuring that operational requirements can be met efficiently. Your knowledge/skills, education, and experience: | |
Knowledge/ Qualification/ Training/ Certification: - Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
- 5+ years of HR generalist experience, including field or site-based HR support in construction, project execution, energy, or industrial settings.
- Experience supporting high-volume workforce onboarding, mobilization, and transactional activities.
- Working knowledge of labor law, HR compliance, and HRIS systems (Oracle HCM preferred).
- Comfortable supporting craft labor and frontline project teams.
- Ability to adapt quickly to shifting priorities and high-paced environments.

- Fluency in Spanish a plus, but not required.
