About the job:

Kent is looking for a Senior Human Resources Business Partner to be based in Houston, Texas.

As the Senior HR Business Partner for our Completions, Commissioning & Start-Up service line in the United States and Trinidad & Tobago, you will be at the forefront of administering, developing and implementing a wide range of transactional HR activities to support the evolving needs of the business. This role demands a unique combination of innovative thinking and operational prowess, requiring you to effortlessly transition between providing creative solutions and day-to-day transactional execution.

The ideal candidate will be an agile and creative problem-solving HR professional who can:

  • Develop and implement innovative HR processes that support the Completions, Commissioning & Start-Up group's specific needs and contribute to overall business success.
  • Provide expert guidance on HR policies, practices, and programs to leaders and employees within the group.
  • Drive organizational effectiveness by aligning leadership, employees, processes and resources to maximize performance, productivity and overall project success.
  • Skillfully handle complex employee relations issues while maintaining a positive and productive work environment.

Skills and Responsibilities:

Responsibilities:

  • Champion HR Procedures: Serve as the go to individual on HR procedures, providing guidance and nuanced interpretations to our Completions, Commissioning & Start up group. Empower managers and employees with clear, actionable insights that foster a compliant and productive work environment.
  • Drive Continuous HR Innovation: Collaborate dynamically with cross functional teams to improve HR processes, guidelines, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Be a catalyst for positive change, constantly seeking ways to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in HR operations.
  • Cultivate Strong Leadership Relationships: Build and nurture credible partnerships with front line and mid-level leaders through unwavering trust, seamless collaboration, and effective communication. Position yourself as an indispensable strategic partner in driving project success.
  • Ensure Regulatory Compliance: Stay vigilant in maintaining compliance with labor regulations and company policies. Proactively identify potential risks and implement measures to safeguard the organization's interests.
  • Lead HR Issue Resolution: Take the lead in investigating complex HR issues from initial reporting to final resolution. Utilize your emotional intelligence and HR acumen to navigate sensitive situations, ensuring fair and thorough outcomes that align with company core beliefs and legal requirements.
  • Contribute to HR Policy Evolution: Play a pivotal role in the improvement, development, and implementation of cutting-edge HR policies and procedures. Stay ahead of the business you support, industry trends and best practices to ensure your organization remains an employer of choice.
  • Craft Exceptional Employee Journeys: As the primary point of contact for all pre-employment and onboarding of new hires within the services line, reimagine and optimize the employee’s onboarding and offboarding experiences. Create memorable, seamless transitions that set the stage for long-term engagement and positive employee relationships.
  • Deliver Impactful HR Training: Develop, facilitate and maintain dynamic HR training sessions and presentations. Engage your audience with interactive, informative content that drives understanding and adoption of HR best practices.
  • Champion HR Initiatives: Become a passionate advocate for HR programs and initiatives. Utilize your communication skills to generate excitement and buy in across all levels of the organization.
  • Navigate Complex Leave Processes: Provide expert support to employees navigating various leave processes, including Family and Medical Leave, Short-term and Long-Term Disability and Interactive Accommodations under the American with Disabilities Act. Ensure compliance while demonstrating empathy and understanding during sensitive situations.
  • Design Compelling HR Communications: Develop a wide range of HR documentation, communications, and reports that effectively convey complex information to diverse audiences. Ensure clarity, consistency, and compliance in all HR and Project related materials.
  • Manage HRIS Transactional Activities: Skilfully initiate a wide range of employee transactions in Oracle HCM, including promotions and salary adjustments, new hires, terminations, job changes, domestic and international transfers. Ensure timely data accuracy and communication and to support critical HR and business decisions.

In addition to the responsibilities listed herein, the employee may be required to perform other ad-hoc tasks as needed or directed by the supervisor or management. These tasks will be within the reasonable scope of the employee's skills, capabilities, and role within the organization. The intent of this provision is to allow for flexibility and adaptability in meeting the dynamic needs of the organization, ensuring that operational requirements can be met efficiently. All such tasks will be assigned considering the employee's current workload and with respect to their professional development.

Your knowledge/skills, education, and experience:

Knowledge/ Qualification/ Training/ Certification:

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience as a HR Business Partner in Completions, Commissioning, Start-Up, Construction, Project Site, Operational or manufacturing setting.
  • Strong understanding of employment standards and HR best practices.
  • Knowledge of applicable legislation and regulatory HR guidelines.

Communication:

  • Excellent command of the English language in both oral and written communication and skills.
