About the job:

Kent is recruiting for a SSenior Field Instrumentation & Control Designer based in Iraq in 6 weeks on/ 2 weeks off rotational basis.

You will be required to support all phases of the projects to suit the needs and requirements of Kent as well as our Client.


Skills and Responsibilities:

· Be a team leader, manage, and add value to the assigned project.

· Manage Coordination/Communication with other disciplines, Contractors and Client.

· Review Client’s deliverables in own filed, as required, and ensure all design work performed meets quality, cost and schedule requirements.

· Ensure all design work conforms to the codes and standards used by the Client or to agreed industry standards.

· Carry out and participate in site surveys, give inputs to site reports and ensure it is as per actual site conditions.

· Carry out Client office visit for data collection.

· Duties include, as applicable to own field, photographs and field notes, physical measurements using calibrated equipment, review of changes, application of specifications…etc.

· Where required, perform designing work and produce deliverables as part of the team.

· Ability to interpret Client specifications.

· Quality Assurance – Responsible for working within the provisions and guidelines of the Quality Assurance system.

· Consult Quality Assurance with any quality issues, ensuring compliance with ISO Quality procedures, Project Quality Plan and Design Integrity processes and procedures.

· Following Project Quality and Company Quality Procedures.

· Identifying issues and problems, developing appropriate solutions, advising Client, and asking for assistance when required

· Preparation and Review of Architecture, Schematic, Cable Block Diagrams, Cable Schedule, Hook Up Diagrams…etc.

· Preparation of Location Layouts, Routing Layouts, Junction Box Wiring and Interconnection, Functional Loop Diagrams etc.

· Preparation of Control System Architecture, Building and Control Room Layouts.

· Preparation of Cable Schedule, Junction Box Schedule, Cable Drum Schedule, MCT Schedule and MTOs.

· Familiarization in 3D Model Concepts.

· Attending 3D Model Review and resolving model review comments.

· Supporting team of engineers and designers by providing relevant inputs and technical guidance.

· Co-ordination with Client and Multi Discipline Engineers and Designers.

· Reviewing and providing comments to multidiscipline drawings.

· Leading a Team of Designers and supporting engineering team.

· Planning and managing the design related activities and schedule.

· Understanding of Instrumentation Selection, such as Control Valves, Flowmeters, Thermowells, Cables.

· Experience in Control Systems like PLCs, DCS, ESD, F&G, MMS, and prepare engineering documents like IO List, Logic Diagrams, Loop Drawings, C&E diagrams, Narratives.

· Good knowledge of Vendors Technical Bid Evaluations processes.

· Being able to work with multiple and concurrently small and medium projects.

· Working knowledge of software’s like Smart Plant Instrumentation (SPI), AVEVA and AutoCAD.

· Working knowledge (design/implementation) of Communication Networks is a plus.

· Competent use of relevant software such as MS Office Suite.

· Verification and documentation that all work, as applicable to own field, is being constructed in accordance with the construction contract.

· As the project nears completion, determine Contractor achievement of both Substantial Completion and Final Completion documentation/dossier.


In addition to the responsibilities listed herein, the employee may be required to perform other ad-hoc tasks as needed or directed by the supervisor or management. These tasks will be within the reasonable scope of the employee's skills, capabilities, and role within the organization. The intent of this provision is to allow for flexibility and adaptability in meeting the dynamic needs of the organization, ensuring that operational requirements can be met efficiently. All such tasks will be assigned considering the employee's current workload and with respect to their professional development.


Your knowledge/skills, education, and experience:

Qualification/ Certification:

· Diploma in Instrumentation & Control Engineering / Electrical & Electronics Engineering / Electronics & Communication Engineering.

· 10+ years relevant experience.

Skills Requirement:

· Work in office and Site based environments

· Capable of using the appropriate software (PDMS/E3D, S3D, AutoCAD, MicroStation)

· Basic Knowledge about Smart Plant Instrumentation & Aveva Instrumentation is an Added advantage.

· Team Management and Leadership skills.

· Offshore/Onshore Site Visit Experience is added advantage.

· Knowledge of Auto LISP, Visual Lisp is an added advantage.


Communication:

· Excellent interpersonal and analytical attributes

· Able to effectively communicate technical issues to peers and line manager (written and verbal).


Core Competencies:

· Capable of using the appropriate software (PDMS/E3D, S3D, AutoCAD, MicroStation)

· Basic Knowledge about Smart Plant Instrumentation & Aveva Instrumentation is an Added advantage.

· Capability of verifying and handling information and producing instructions and guidance.

· Capability of using latest engineering knowledge and understanding to apply technical and practical skills.

· In depth knowledge and understanding of technical requirements in own field and level.

· Design, development, checking and solving engineering problems.

· Analyzing, integrating and interpreting results.

· Ownership of responsibility for work by self and team.

· Capability in management and leadership of own team.

· Communication and interpersonal skills to hold presentation and keep audience interested.

· Professional commitment in following appropriate code of professional conduct, recognising obligations to society, the profession and the environment.

· Capability of planning, implementing and controlling.

· Capabilities in estimating and forecasting.


HSSEQ:

The Employee shall observe the Health, Safety, Sustainability, Environment and Quality rules of the Company; it’s clients and the governing authorities of the host country.

· Awareness of identifying the possible risks and hazards of the engineering and construction industry, e.g. falling objects.

· Capability of carrying out task risk assessments.

· Awareness and adequate trainings to handle emergency response situations.

· Awareness of the risk control measures, e.g. use of PPE…etc.

· Adequate awareness of the safety in design (SID) requirements set by codes in the industry.

· Adequate awareness of design quality requirements set by codes in the industry.
