Role scope
Responsible for cost control and financial management of brownfield projects within the owner’s team. Ensures accurate cost forecasting, monitoring, and reporting to support project delivery within approved budgets and timelines.
Details / responsibilities
- Develop and maintain project cost estimates, budgets, and forecasts for brownfield projects.
- Monitor and control project expenditures, ensuring alignment with approved budgets.
- Analyze cost variances and provide timely reporting to stakeholders.
- Support change management by evaluating cost impacts of scope changes.
- Collaborate with project managers, planners, and contractors to ensure cost efficiency.
- Prepare monthly cost reports and cash flow projections for portfolio performance.
- Ensure compliance with company standards, procedures, and governance requirements.
Your knowledge/skills, education, and experience:
Knowledge/ Qualification/ Training/ Certification:
- A relevant educational qualification in finance, accounting, or a related field
- Additionally, professional certifications such as Certified Cost Professional (CCP) or Project Management Professional (PMP) may be beneficial
- Strong knowledge of cost engineering principles, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Experience in brownfield or oil & gas projects preferred.
- Proficiency in cost control tools and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Primavera).
- Advanced proficiency in SAP HANA, Power BI, and cost control tools.
Communication:
- Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
Core Competencies
- Experience in cost control within the oil and gas industry is essential
- Strong understanding of financial principles, budgeting, and accounting
- In-depth knowledge of the oil and gas industry, including its operations and cost structures
- Proficiency in data analysis and the ability to interpret complex financial information
- Ability to identify and manage financial risks associated with projects
- Familiarity with cost control software and tools
- Ability to negotiate contracts and influence cost-saving decisions
- Capability to identify and resolve cost-related issues proactively
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to achieve project objectives
- Knowledge of financial regulations and compliance requirements
