Kent was awarded the complete electrical and instrumentation contract on the construction of the LNG Plant and Oil Export Terminal where we provided bulk material procurement, construction, pre-commissioning and commissioning services. Kent delivered to challenging timescales to reach milestones. For example, in late July 2007, CTSD and Kent committed to installing 430,000 metres of main and secondary cabling on the Process Trains before the onset of the cold winter weather. The harsh winters in Sakhalin, which often reach temperatures of -35C would seriously limit cabling as the cable cannot be installed in temperatures below -5C. Although we agreed to achieve this meterage in a 13-week period, we were delighted to surpass this target in less than 9 weeks.
In total Kent executed over 6 million manhours on the project LTI free. But more than that, we were proud to receive a total of 9 awards and commendations from the client during the life of the project, including 3 awards for ‘Best Subcontractor’.
