About the job:
This is a site-based role which will require you to conduct compliance inspections, surveillance and checks of incoming fabricated mechanical equipment, as well as construction and installation inspections of mechanical equipment within a refinery.
Essentially your role will be to ensure compliance with industry standards, specifications, drawings and customer requirements, and that means attention to detail is essential and ability to comply with the contractual requirements of the client and with the company KMS requirements is required.
Your Responsibilities:
- Responsible for any safety and environmental impacts relevant to Quality Control (QC) activities performed on site.
- Ensure the approved Project Quality Plan (PQP) is being adhered to on site.
- Required to perform QC activities relevant to Welding work performed by Employees on site
- Required to perform QC activities relevant to Coating/Fireproofing/Insulation work performed by Contractors on site
- Ensure planned Welding and Coating Inspections are carried out on time and that any deviation from the Engineering deliverables, Specifications and Standards are identified, recorded and reported in a timely manner to the QC Lead.
- Follow up on any deviations that have been identified to ensure compliance has been achieved.
- Retain and maintain the required documentation for all necessary QA/QC activities. Eg. Inspection/Audit/Surveillance reports and findings.
- Maintain the required competencies and work standards required, and where necessary initiate training to maintain skills.
- Provide support to the Kent Supervisors and Construction team.
- Maintain a good working relationship with all Kent and Client personnel.
- Build and maintain relationships with Coating/Insulation/Fireproofing providers
- Build and maintain relationships with NDT and coating providers and other subcontracted testing and inspection contractors/vendors
- Attend and participate in site, company and client meetings as required by the QC Lead
- Ensure all test documentation, records, as-builts and related commissioning and handover documentation are completed and are maintained, kept up-to date and are traceable and retrievable.
- Any other adhoc duties as assigned from time to time by the QC Lead
About You:
We’re ideally looking for a candidate who brings a combination of the following qualifications and experience: A trade certificate in Engineering or a relevant fabrication discipline and a Certification such as AS1796 Cert 10 Welding, WTIA Senior Welding Inspector, or CSWIP 3.1/3.2 Inspector
