About the job:

Kent is looking for a Project Controller Manager to be based in Houston, TX

Skills and Responsibilities:

As the Project Controls Manager, you will be responsible for establishing and maintaining robust systems and processes to support the planning, monitoring, and reporting of a large engineering project throughout its lifecycle. You will play a pivotal role in managing project costs, schedules, risks, and resources to ensure project objectives are achieved within scope, budget, and timeline constraints.

· Develop and implement Project Controls strategies, procedures, and systems to effectively manage the project from inception to completion.

· Lead the development of detailed project schedules, including work breakdown structures (WBS), critical path analysis, and resource loading, using project management software (e.g., Primavera P6).

· Establish baseline project budgets and forecasts, track actual costs, and analyze variances to ensure cost control and financial accountability.

· Monitor project progress against milestones, deliverables, and key performance indicators (KPIs), identifying deviations and implementing corrective actions as necessary.

· Coordinate with project stakeholders to collect and validate project data, ensuring accuracy and completeness for reporting purposes.

· Conduct risk assessments and develop risk mitigation strategies to minimize project risks and uncertainties.

· Prepare regular project status reports, dashboards, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders, highlighting key performance metrics and trends.

· Lead Project Controls meetings, workshops, and reviews to communicate project status, address issues, and align on action plans with project teams.

· Provide leadership and guidance to team members, fostering a culture of collaboration, excellence, and continuous improvement.

· Collaborate with other functional teams, including engineering, procurement, and construction, to integrate Project Controls processes and ensure alignment with project objectives.

In addition to the responsibilities listed herein, the employee may be required to perform other ad-hoc tasks as needed or directed by the supervisor or management. These tasks will be within the reasonable scope of the employee's skills, capabilities, and role within the organization. The intent of this provision is to allow for flexibility and adaptability in meeting the dynamic needs of the organization, ensuring that operational requirements can be met efficiently. All such tasks will be assigned considering the employee's current workload and with respect to their professional development.

Your knowledge/skills, education, and experience:

Knowledge/ Qualification/ Training/ Certification:

· Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.

· 12+ years experience in Project Controls Management for large-scale engineering projects in the Oil, Gas, and Petrochemical Industry.

· Proficiency in Primavera P6.

· Strong understanding of project management principles, including scheduling, cost control, risk management, and earned value management (EVM).

· Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret project data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.

· Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

· Leadership qualities with the ability to motivate and inspire team members to achieve project objectives.

· Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on accuracy and precision in Project Controls processes and reporting.

Communication:

· Ability to communicate effectively across location, region and corporate to accomplish objectives
