Kent is looking for a Principal Ports and Harbours Engineer – Outside IR35 to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Key Deliverables:

  • Primary point of contact for all ports & harbour technical queries.
  • Develop import and terminal requirements based on the expected quantities of fuel by reviewing current infrastructure. Review the need for a new dock against reuse of existing docks. Considerations include cost, schedule and constructability.
  • Complete a storage volume study assessing the level of shipping required for throughput of fuel.
  • Contribute to basis of design document, as required.
  • Complete jetty design to pre-FEED level.
  • Support the Specialist Engineer and/or Project Manager in the technical queries made by the client, Interacting in formal and periodic meetings with the Specialist Engineer or the Head of Specialty, in order to adequately resolve concerns, to be attentive to modifications of scope that require immediate application of change control actions.

Key Requirements:

  • Diploma or Degree in Civil engineering discipline.
  • Extensive Experience in Ports & Harbours Projects.
  • Proven track record of successful projects and highly motivated/organised.
  • An understanding of regulations and codes.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Able to multitask and work independently under pressure, and tight deadlines.
  • Excellent communication (written/verbal) skills.
  • Basic knowledge of AutoCAD.
  • Office management (Word, Excel, Power Point, teams).
  • Knowledge of HSEQ.
