About the job:
Kent is looking for a Preservation Technicianto support the team on a multi-year project based at North Slope, Alaska. This individual will work on pre-commissioning, commissioning and preservation of new equipment and facilities, ensuring proper installation, testing and operation.
Skills and Responsibilities: | |
- Conducting preventive and corrective maintenance to ensure the longevity and optimal performance of equipment.
- Handling fragile and rare materials to capture accurate measurements and assess their condition.
- Producing preservation housing structures for a variety of collection materials.
- Performing pre-commissioning checks and inspections to ensure equipment and systems are properly installed and meet preservation specifications.
- Conducting functional tests on equipment to confirm operation and performance.
- Identifying, troubleshooting, and correcting deficiencies found during preservation inspections.
- Keeping detailed records of preservation activities.
- Participating in the preparation of startup of new equipment and facilities.
- Ensuring proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and conformity to safety procedures.
- Caring for tools and reporting any missing or broken tools and needed supplies.
- Working with team to perform required inspections on various equipment.
- Documenting all inspection findings and test results, and communicating them to the Preservation Lead.
- Assisting with preservation troubleshooting and corrective actions.
- Working with third-party testing and inspection.
- Reports to the Preservation Coordinator.
In addition to the responsibilities listed herein, the employee may be required to perform other ad-hoc tasks as needed or directed by the supervisor or management. These tasks will be within the reasonable scope of the employee's skills, capabilities, and role within the organization. The intent of this provision is to allow for flexibility and adaptability in meeting the dynamic needs of the organization, ensuring that operational requirements can be met efficiently. Your knowledge/skills, education, and experience: | |
Knowledge/ Qualification/ Training/ Certification: - 5+ years of experience supporting Oil & Gas projects in commissioning, construction and/or engineering capacity.
- Experience in preservation management, preferably in the commissioning, completion, or start-up phases of large-scale industrial projects.
- On-site experience interfacing with client/contractor representatives.
- Worksite Safety focus.
- In-depth knowledge of preservation principles, techniques, and best practices, with a focus on asset integrity and longevity.

Communication: - Read, write, and speak fluent English, especially as required to function effectively within a project team and to communicate with project management, contractors, and sub‑contractors.

- Must be able to work with the team in developing improved work processes for the preservation department.
