About the job:

A Planner plays a crucial role in ensuring that projects are executed efficiently and on schedule.

We are recruiting engineering and project professionals for various roles for a Project Management Consultant (PMC) team to be engaged in projects across Europe but based in Munich.

These positions will form a Project Controls team supporting the delivery of small projects within the Burghausen, DE refinery. The Project Controls lead will lead this team. Projects will include brownfield modifications, and routine maintenance projects within the refinery, generally up to 20m EUR in value.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans that outline the sequence of activities, resources required, and timelines for completion.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to gather relevant information for project planning.
  • Create project schedules using scheduling software tools to allocate resources effectively and optimize project timelines.
  • Regularly update and adjust schedules based on project progress, changes in scope, and unforeseen challenges.
  • Work with project teams to identify and allocate necessary resources, including manpower, equipment, and materials, to meet project requirements.
  • Ensure that resource allocations are in line with project budgets and timelines.
  • Identify potential risks and uncertainties that may impact project schedules.
  • Develop contingency plans and work closely with project teams to mitigate risks and minimize the impact on project timelines.
  • Monitor and report on the progress of projects, comparing actual performance against planned milestones.
  • Provide regular status updates to project teams and management, highlighting any deviations from the original schedule.
  • Facilitate communication between different project teams and stakeholders to ensure everyone is aligned with project schedules and objectives.
  • Prepare and distribute project status reports to keep all relevant parties informed.
  • Evaluate and assess the impact of changes to project scope, schedule, and resources.
  • Work with project teams to implement changes efficiently while minimizing disruptions to the overall project plan.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including schedules, reports, and other relevant records.
  • Ensure that all project-related documentation complies with industry standards and regulations.
  • Participate in project reviews to identify areas for improvement in planning and scheduling processes.
  • Implement lessons learned from previous projects to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of future planning activities.
  • Ensure that project planning activities comply with industry standards, regulations, and company policies.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and best practices in project planning and scheduling.


Your knowledge/skills, education, and experience:

  • Minimum: Bachelor’s degree in relevant fields.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills, along with a deep understanding of project management principles and industry-specific challenges.
