Job Description – Pipeline, Engineer

Knowledge/skills, education, and experience:

We are looking for an experienced Pipeline Engineer to be based in Mumbai/Vadodara office, who will have around 9+ years relevant Pipeline Design & Detail Engineering experience, mostly in the field of Oil & Gas, Refinery, Petrochemical or Chemical sector with large EPC companies or Engineering Consulting organizations. You should be effective with verbal and written communication skills.

Core Competencies:

• Perform the following tasks independently / with minimum guidance:
• Review Client's technical documentation and requirements.
• Ensure an adequate standard of technical documentation and contribute to updating Company standards.
• Review the Client’s technical documents during the bid phase. Prepare technical queries, Qualifications, Clarifications.
• Prepare the design basis/PEP/CTRs for the pipeline design and interface with the relative process and other disciplines.
• Prepare the technical specifications and data sheets for purchasing material.
• Check the results of surveys carried out by sub-contractors.
• Optimize the laying route. Carry out Route selection study.
• Assist with the selection of laying spread/methods and perform/review installation design analysis for the pipeline system.
• Perform technical bid evaluation. Oversee the bid evaluation and procurements phases.
• Review the alignment sheets prepared by pipeline designers.
• Verify and act upon the remarks/comments of the Client/Certifying Body.
• Assist the pipeline lead or the project engineering manager for solving technical problems arising during project development and for interfacing/supporting the procurement department.
• Perform/verify all discipline analyses and calculation notes required to design the pipelines system, including the engineering activities of third parties/sub-contractors.
• Define standards and procedures for the relative engineering area and contribute to software evaluations.
• Detailed design of onshore flowlines, trunklines, transfer lines and export pipelines.
• Review Pipeline calculations, Pipeline material specifications and data sheets, Vendor TBE, Pipeline drawings, Pipeline stress analysis reports, etc.
• Good knowledge of operating company specifications and international standards requirements for pipeline design.
• Good knowledge of Google Earth, AutoCAD/MicroStation, Excel/Mathcad. (CAESAR II is added advantage)
• Subsea and offshore pipeline design experience, exposure to construction and commissioning of pipelines would be added values.

Qualification/ Certification:

• Masters/Bachelor of Engineering OR Bachelor of Technology in Mechanical / Chemical Engineering from Indian University (UGC approved) or from Overseas University

Software Tools:

• Good knowledge of Google Earth, AutoCAD/MicroStation, Excel/Mathcad. (CAESAR II is added advantage).

Communication:

• Effective verbal and written communication
• Presentation and business communication skill
• Identify/report technical concerns and solutions in a clear and concise manner
• Communicate effectively with the team and with the projects team.
• Attend project and team meeting

Details about the role:

• Location: Mumbai
• Travel required: At times for job requirements, at various other Kent offices across the globe. Also, may involve deputation to other Kent offices / Client offices on a short term or long-term basis.
