Kent was awarded the design contract for the offshore substation which forms part of a major windfarm development on the East Coast of the United States of America. Our team delivered the conceptual design of the jacket foundation and topside structure.
The Park City Wind development – which is being developed by Vineyard Wind, a 50-50 partnership of Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners and Avangrid Renewables, is a 804 megawatt offshore wind farm development located 23 miles off the cost of Massachusetts.
Kent was awarded the concept design for the offshore electrical substation following on from recent work with the Iberdrola Group, which owns Avangrid, on East Anglia Hub and Baltic Eagle.
The project will export power via two export cables, which will make landfall in the town of Barnstable. The water depth at the PCW ESP location is at 48.75m.
