About the job:
Kent is hiring Mechanical Commissioning Supervisors for the GPX Greenfield project based in Port Arthur, TX.
Skills and Responsibilities: |
Responsibilities: - Reports to the Mechanical Commissioning Lead and manages a team of Mechanical Commissioning Technicians.
- Oversees the safe and efficient execution of mechanical commissioning work in the field.
- Supervises technicians during equipment installation, loop checks, pressure testing, flushing, alignment, and mechanical inspection activities.
- Verifies mechanical system status and ensures readiness for startup and handover phases.
- Coordinates vendor support and interfaces with engineering teams to resolve technical issues.
- Leads mechanical system walkdowns and punch list development in accordance with project standards.
- Ensures the completion and proper documentation of pre-commissioning and commissioning check sheets.
- Reviews and approves redlines, as-builts, and ITR packages.
- Supports the delivery of subsystem handovers and Turnover Dossiers to Operations.
- Demonstrates visible leadership in HSSE and ensures that team members adhere to safety practices and procedures.
- Participates in Permit to Work (PTW) processes, shift handovers, and safety meetings.
- Drives continuous improvement in quality, productivity, and safety within the team.
In addition to the responsibilities listed herein, the employee may be required to perform other ad-hoc tasks as needed or directed by the supervisor or management. These tasks will be within the reasonable scope of the employee's skills, capabilities, and role within the organization. The intent of this provision is to allow for flexibility and adaptability in meeting the dynamic needs of the organization, ensuring that operational requirements can be met efficiently. Your knowledge/skills, education, and experience: | |
Knowledge/ Qualification/ Training/ Certification: - Minimum of 5 years’ experience in mechanical commissioning with 2+ years in a supervisory capacity.
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems, including rotating equipment, HVAC, utility systems, and process packages.
- Experience with System Handover Management Process, punch list management, and pre-commissioning documentation.
- Knowledge of vendor interface and commissioning planning tools is an asset.
- Experience working in live plant environments and understanding of Control of Work/PTW systems.
