About the job:

Kent is looking for Materials Coordinator to support the team on a multi-year project based in multiple locations (starting in North Slope, Alaska).

Skills and Responsibilities:

Responsibilities:

  • Lead all aspects of materials flow and maintains control and accuracy over all goods inventories, including all transactions, procurement, planning, scheduling, cost, receiving and shipping to ensure orders are fulfilled on time.
  • Execute a sourcing strategy to meet the project’s sourcing requirements.
  • Execute build to order and build to forecast plans.
  • Lead the best economic strategy for production planning to support customer demand.
  • Establish and supervise production scheduling activities by monitoring material inventories, tracking progress of production and reviewing factors that affect schedules.
  • Identify, develop and manage effective relationships with existing and potential suppliers of goods and services to meet the established cost, quality and delivery of targets.
  • Coordinate and work with quality and engineering to ensure 100% on-time delivery by establishing and monitoring schedule to proactively identify and address any issues.
  • Work with management group to prepare the materials budget, schedule expenditures, analyze variances and initiate corrective actions.
  • Performs other duties as required.

In addition to the responsibilities listed herein, the employee may be required to perform other ad-hoc tasks as needed or directed by the supervisor or management. These tasks will be within the reasonable scope of the employee's skills, capabilities, and role within the organization. The intent of this provision is to allow for flexibility and adaptability in meeting the dynamic needs of the organization, ensuring that operational requirements can be met efficiently. All such tasks will be assigned considering the employee's current workload and with respect to their professional development.

Your knowledge/skills, education, and experience:

Knowledge/ Qualification/ Training/ Certification:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or other related discipline required.
  • Minimum 10 years materials and sourcing experience, preferable in the oil and gas industry.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of material requisitioning, expediting, logistics and site material management.
  • General knowledge of piping, electrical, instrumentation, structural and civil materials.
  • APICS certification a plus.
  • Proficient in MS Office suite of software programs

Communication:

  • Excellent command of the English language in both oral and written communication and skills.

Behavior/ Core Competencies:

  • Proven analytical problem-solving skills required.
  • Expert technical skills and judgment.
  • Strong understanding of work planning, scheduling and tracking.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop successful working relationships and become a team player.
  • Ability to work in harsh environments, in stressful situations, and during unsociable hours.
