About the job:
Kent is looking for a Mechanical / Process Commissioning LOTO Technician to support the team on a multi-year project based in multiple locations (starting in North Slope, Alaska).
Skills and Responsibilities: | |
- Reports to the Mechanical commissioning lead for planning and execution management support.
- Implement Lockout/Tagout procedures to safeguard personnel during construction, commissioning, maintenance, and repair operations
- Analyze and interpret Process and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) to identify critical isolation points for effective lockout procedures
- Execute proper lockout and tagout protocols on designated equipment and systems
- Perform pre-isolation verifications and post-isolation testing to confirm zero energy state
- Conduct training for affected personnel on LOTO protocols and safe equipment operation
- Maintain accurate documentation of all LOTO activities including isolation records, permits, and equipment logs
- Perform regular audits to verify compliance with LOTO policies and safety regulations
- Support the development and continuous improvement of the LOTO program
- Respond to and assist with resolving LOTO-related issues or concerns
- Always demonstrate personal HSSE leadership and excellent HSE behaviors and ensure that safety expectations are communicated and maintained.
- Attend all mandatory training as specified in HSE and Permit to Work training schedule.
- Ensure all team members are fully aware and understand all the projects’ safe working practices and adhere to them to maintain a SAFE working environment.
- Ensure the projects commitment to Safety is maintained.
In addition to the responsibilities listed herein, the employee may be required to perform other ad-hoc tasks as needed or directed by the supervisor or management. These tasks will be within the reasonable scope of the employee's skills, capabilities, and role within the organization. Your knowledge/skills, education, and experience: | |
Knowledge/ Qualification/ Training/ Certification: - Proven track record of 5+ years of experience implementing LOTO procedures in industrial environments, commissioning experience on Mechanical Systems and demonstrate an understanding of Commissioning process including:
- Strong knowledge of P&IDs, energy isolation principles, and hazardous energy control.
- Demonstrated ability to interpret technical documentation and schematics.
- Excellent attention to detail with a rigorous approach to safety protocols.
- Proficiency in documenting and tracking LOTO activities.
- Commissioning of Mechanical, HVAC and Rotating Equipment systems.
- Control of Work/ PTW processes during execution.
