Role scope
A Lead Project Controller on the Ampol Future Fuels project, you will play a critical role in ensuring the successful delivery of the project. This role involves overseeing project cost control, planning and scheduling, progress measurement and forecasting activities. The Lead Project Controller will report to the Project Control Manager and work closely with Project Managers, Engineering teams, Procurement, and construction leads to maintain alignment with the project budget and schedule.
Your Day to Day will Include:
- Ensure close co-operation between commercial, procurement, estimating and planning staff in relation to assessment of progress and accounting day works identification and evaluation of variations - by implementing procedures and paper flow on site which facilitate these requirements.
- Report in detail on the project control status of all current work.
- In relation to contractual claims ensure that site staff maintain accurate records, prepare claims in a satisfactory manner and timeously present to Client.
- Negotiate with Client / Subcontractors as necessary with respect to claims, procedures and other various items.
- Keep abreast of all changes to project commercial and contractual matters.
- Provide support in preparing monthly controls progress reports internally and externally.
- Initiate and supervise preparation and updating of all schedules.
- Supervise planning for all initiated work.
- Implementation of the project cost coding structure compatible with the Kent and Client’s operating requirements.
- Maintenance of current budget allocation internally and externally.
- Prepare the budget breakdown by package for all packages for all initiated and prospective work.
- Monitor and control cost trending program and ensure that a total Project Costs are reported for all external and internal work
- Forecast is continuously updated and compared to all budgets.
About You:
Our ideal candidate holds a professional qualification or degree in Quantity Surveying, Finance, Economics, Engineering, or Construction Management. They possess strong negotiating skills and excellent organizational abilities, consistently meeting deadlines in fast-paced environments. Experienced in change management, they are agile, pragmatic and skilled at delivering standardised outcomes within dynamic settings.
