About the job:


Kent is seeking a Lead Mechanical Commissioning Technician for a long-term Commissioning & Startup project in Beaumont, TX. Will report to Mechanical Commissioning Lead for planning and execution management support and potentially supervise up to 10 mechanical techs on project.

Your responsibilities:

Carries out Mechanical commissioning execution work as directed and communicates with the Mechanical Commissioning lead for technical support. Be proficient in Permit To Work systems as a signee and to ensure that all applicable permits required for daily activities are ready and signed on daily by the whole work force. Ensures that resources and consumables are available for technicians to execute work. Reviews and verifies progress and completion of check sheets. Always demonstrate personal HSSE leadership and excellent HSE behaviors and ensure that safety expectations are communicated and maintained. Attend all mandatory training as specified in HSE and Permit To Work training schedule. Oversee the daily closure of project checksheets completed by the team. Ensure all team members are fully aware and understand all the projects safe working practices and adhere to them to maintain a SAFE working environment. Carry out mechanical completion line walks of mechanical and process systems and compile punch lists in accordance with project specifications. Carry out line walks and apply process isolations where instructed. Understand the requirements for vessel inspections, alignments, PSV’s, Flushing, and inspections. Inspect mechanical and process equipment in line with project specifications and complete the associated ITR paperwork. Take part in Tri Party Sub System/System Mechanical Completion walk downs and punch list item categorization. System Handover Management Process pre commissioning check sheet completion As building mechanical and process documents in accordance with project procedure Ensure the projects commitment to Safety is maintained. To complete the work scope assigned within the defined project schedule, ensuring the engineering design standards are achieved and equipment operability satisfactorily demonstrated.

Your knowledge/skills, education, and experience:

Qualification/ Certification: Proven track record of 5+ years commissioning experience on Mechanical Systems Skills Requirement: Demonstrated understanding of Commissioning process including: Commissioning of Mechanical, HVAC and Rotating Equipment systems Control of Work/ PTW processes during execution Commissioning of utility and process systems System Handover Management Process pre commissioning check sheet completion

Communication: Full fluency in English is required.

Core Competencies: Must be able to work under pressure to meet deadlines. Must be able to work with the team in developing improved work processes for the department.
