About the job:

Kent is seeking an experienced Advanced Work Packaging (AWP) Lead to join our team in Houston, Texas. This strategic role is critical to driving AWP adoption, digital transformation, and operational excellence across large-scale capital projects. The successful candidate will bring deep expertise in EPC execution, work packaging methodologies, and digital integration, enabling measurable improvements in project predictability, efficiency, and performance.

Skills and Responsibilities

Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end implementation of AWP across all project phases (FEL through commissioning), ensuring consistent application of CWPs, EWPs, PWPs, and IWPs.
  • Align project execution with the Path of Construction (PoC) to optimize sequencing, productivity, and cost/schedule outcomes.
  • Design and execute enterprise-wide digital strategies, including project data warehouses, real-time Power BI dashboards, and integrated construction technologies.
  • Oversee large-scale capital project portfolios, embedding AWP principles and operational excellence frameworks across disciplines.
  • Collaborate with EPC contractors, global teams, and executive stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of engineering, procurement, and construction workflows.
  • Implement smart material management systems, AI-enabled knowledge platforms, and other digital tools to support real-time decision-making.
  • Provide strategic advisory to senior leadership on AWP, digital project delivery, risk mitigation, and innovative contracting models.
  • Lead and inspire cross-functional, multicultural project teams, ensuring alignment with business goals and digital execution frameworks.
  • Perform other duties or ad-hoc responsibilities as assigned, aligned with professional expertise and organizational needs, ensuring flexibility in supporting evolving project demands.

In addition to the responsibilities listed herein, the employee may be required to perform other ad-hoc tasks as needed or directed by the supervisor or management. These tasks will be within the reasonable scope of the employee's skills, capabilities, and role within the organization. The intent of this provision is to allow for flexibility and adaptability in meeting the dynamic needs of the organization, ensuring that operational requirements can be met efficiently. All such tasks will be assigned considering the employees’ current workload and with respect to their professional development.

Your knowledge/skills, education, and experience:

Knowledge/Qualifications/Training/Certifications:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering, Construction Management, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Minimum 15 years of progressive experience implementing AWP methodologies, capital project delivery, and digital transformation.
  • Proven track record managing multi-billion-dollar EPC/EPCM portfolios and delivering measurable performance improvements.
  • Relevant certifications such as PMP, AWP Certified Professional, or equivalent are preferred.
  • Expertise in AWP work packaging strategies (CWPs, EWPs, IWPs) and Path of Construction methodologies.
  • Proficiency in project data integration, enterprise reporting, and visualization tools (e.g., Power BI).
  • Experience with smart material tracking solutions, AI-enabled platforms, and digital construction system

Communication:

  • Strong ability to influence at the executive level with excellent presentation, advisory, and negotiation skills.
  • Professional command of English, both written and verbal, with the ability to communicate effectively across cultures and disciplines.
