About the job:


Kent is looking for a Lead Engineer – Piping to be based in the Beaumont, TX office.

You will interact with other disciplines and groups, corporate technical networks and peers, and vendors/suppliers as needed to successfully implement and startup new equipment installations and revamps.

Your responsibilities:

Lead the project team throughout the design and construction process, adapting piping plans according to budget constraints, design factors or client needs. Review equipment vendor drawings; data interface with suppliers, clients, other engineering disciplines and designers. Participate in the development of project schedule, scope, budget staffing planning and construction planning. Responsible for effective management of change orders Applies knowledge of commonly used piping concepts, practices, codes and procedures within the piping engineering services industry Applies knowledge and experience to complex projects, find non-standard design solutions. Quality review production drawings for a variety of projects and project-related data as required by the project managers to verify corrections are made within the relevant software. Prepare and present technical reports for clients. Responsible for QA/QC process adherence. All other duties as assigned.

Your knowledge/skills, education, and experience:

Qualification/ Certification: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering required. Minimum 10 years piping engineering experience in the Oil & Gas industry required. Knowledge in standard engineering techniques and procedures. Strong knowledge of piping equipment design codes (ASME, ANSI, API, PIP, NACE). Ability to lead execution of work and resolve issues in a team environment. Ability to perform quality reviews for detailed engineering documents and specifications. Skills Requirement:

Communication: Excellent oral, written, presentation, and interpersonal/rapport building skills necessary to work effectively as a team member, and to plan/coordinate processes for results. Full fluency in English is required.

Core Competencies: Must be able to work under pressure to meet deadlines. Must be able to work with the team in developing improved work processes for the department.
