About the job:

Lead civil/structural engineer based in Baytown, TX. Minimum of ten years of hands-on experience in civil/structural design, analysis, and resolution of problems. Provide direction and coordination of civil and structural engineering design in Oil & Gas, Refining, Power and industrial projects. Must possess a P.E. license for stamp/sealing purposes.



Your responsibilities:

  1. Provide overall civil/structural engineering design of medium to large size engineering projects.
  2. Define and review scope of work, prepare engineering estimates at both proposal and design level and schedule for civil/structural engineering portion of work in a project.
  3. Prepare accurate and complete designs and calculations as required to meet project requirements.
  4. Coordinate with other disciplines and assist civil/structural project team to ensure effective quality product.
  5. Experience should include:
    • Civil
      • Perform site development, surface creation, site preparation works including SWPPP, rough grading and finished grading.
      • Perform storm water drainage, effluents design; manhole and cat basic detailing; water/sanitary sewer design and modeling.
      • Design roadway, paving, and fencing plan.
    • Concrete design
      • Foundations for equipment, Furnaces, Towers, Flares, Tanks, Cooling Towers, Exchangers,
Vessels, Pumps and Compressors w / Dynamic Analysis, Substations
      • Misc. Equipment
      • Blast Analysis and Reinforcement
    • Steel design
      • Pipe Racks
      • Auxiliary Structures for Operations and Maintenance and Multi-level Steel Structures for Heavy Equipment
      • Flare Stacks (Derrick and Guy-Wire)
      • Blast Resistant Structural Design
  1. Prepare geotechnical and topographical survey specifications and review soil report and survey data.
  2. Keep up to date on new engineering processes, techniques, and standards.
  3. Develop and recommend improvements in engineering and design standards to lower cost and improve work quality and facilitate maintenance.
  4. Ensure that effective methods and design/engineering techniques are used.
  5. Resolve project issues and problems.
  6. Provide technical guidance to co-workers or supervision to junior engineers and designers.
  7. Contribute to a team environment by accomplishing related results in a cooperative and supportive manner.
  8. Works autonomously without direct supervision; experiences as a lead engineer is preferred.

Preferred Education and Relevant Experience/Training:
  • BSCE degree, MSCE preferred, minimum ten years of hands on civil/structural engineering experience required in petrochemical, midstream or other heavy industries.
  • Must have P.E. license (preferably in the State of Texas.)
  • S.E. licensed is not a must but preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
  • In-depth knowledge of civil/structural computer applications.
  • Ability to integrate new technologies into daily work processes.
  • Experience working with other disciplines understanding their interface requirements.
Experience with design and/or construction of plants required.





Skills Requirement:



Preferred Education and Relevant Experience/Training:
  • BSCE degree, MSCE preferred, minimum ten years of hands on civil/structural engineering experience required in petrochemical, midstream or other heavy industries.
  • Must have P.E. license (preferably in the State of Texas.)
  • S.E. licensed is not a must but highly preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
  • In-depth knowledge of civil/structural computer applications.
  • Ability to integrate new technologies into daily work processes.
  • Experience working with other disciplines understanding their interface requirements.
  • Experience with design and/or construction of plants required.
  • Basic construction knowledge required.
  • Familiar with PIP Standards.
  • Working knowledge of civil/structural layout and design complying with industry standards.
  • Familiar with commonly used civil/structural engineering standards and codes including but not limited to IBC, ACI, AISC, and ASCE codes as well as commonly used civil/structural engineering software.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Excel and Word).
  • Working knowledge of, Civil 3D, L-pile, Navisworks, STAAD
  • AutoCAD 2D/3D
